Well I use TI as my primary account so I'm not familiar with Afrihost's system all that well but IIRC there's a post in this thread that states that their R49/GB package has rollover.Well then they need to fix their system. If you hit your cap your account must be stopped.
Once you top up then it must be active again.
Funny that you can go over your cap but if you have data left over that doesnt get carried over.
you guys have completely missed the point of the original post.
The guy is basically saying that he understood it that if you bought a 3GB account and you went over your limit by say 300MB, you would start the new month with 2.7GB of bandwidth. Top-ups would be separated from the normal monthly allocation. It has nothing to do with not wanting to pay for what he has used, he stated he didn't mind them taking the used bandwidth away from his next monthly rollover.
Funny? We know its a loss leader so it makes sense to me.Funny that you can go over your cap but if you have data left over that doesnt get carried over.
I dont think Afrihost is being 100% fair here, I understand that its my responsibility to check my useage but its also the ISP's job to monitor it aswell... What I'm saying is if you have a 1GB cap (lets just say 1000mb) and you have used 90% of it then you have 100mb left... so you decide to start a DL of 120mb... instead of the system letting you go over your cap it should halt the connection until you either wait for the next month or buy a top up, it should not let you go over with the 20mb (120 - 100 ) and pull it off of the next month... and especially not take it off topups.
I have had quick responses from their "legal" dept. But, still no solution found. I a now being asked for details of my cc, due to billing collapsing! For goodness sake, even with Telkom I don't have these issues. Their CEO need's to go back to graduate school or whatever, he certainly can't "plan/manage" a team above what he envision ages.
