Afrihost's big announcement

I don't like the new client zone. I want the old one back!

What is it that you don't like? :(

You can always switch between if you prefer the old one as well, but send us feedback so we can make sure the new one has the features that work for you.

If there are any clients still battling to login to ClientZone, please clear your cookies.

Please also message me your OS, browser and version so we can also see if that is related.

It's a tad blingey for me, but some useful info/controls in there.

What happened to the hourly stats? Are they going to make a comeback? I found them useful.

Yeah, I mainly checked the hourly stats as well, I would like them back.

Please drop your feedback to us via the Request A Feature link. That should be running properly by the end of the day.

Or just drop them to me in a PM and I'll submit it or you.

Hourly stats are being added already, should be in the next software rollout.

@Afrihost - While busy with the "Improved" clientzone, please change the account over on the bandwidth usage where it says "Account Status: Account Active" so that we can see if we are being throttled/shaped or what ever you want to call it. This would save a lot of phone calls to yourself, at least then we know.

Nice... makes me wish I considered the job offer at afrihost, good design team.

New Client zone not working for me today... Already cleared my cookies etc, still no luck

It is not so much the features, it is the style and usability

It may be a personal preference, but I prefer to be given immediately a full representation of all changing information, eg usage, capping, remaining bandwidth, outages, chokes, shapes, links to policy change alerts, etc - all on the first page.

Less-used and fixed parameter can be hidden behind a button to prevent clutter. Requiring that I fist hit some dumb button before I can see *anything* is IMO, bad interface design. It feels like phoning a bad call centre "We already know who you are, and what you most likely want to know, but 'Please Press 1 for the usage figures that are what 90+% of callers want to know about'".

What I want is the capability to preset whether I get the old or new, expert or newbie - call them "experienced" or "new user" interface. Any new *real* features, as opposed to fluff, to be ported to the "old" interface.

Better still, access to a bunch of presettable check boxes that allow me to decide which features I wish to see on my custom "old" front page.

We all need training wheels to start with, but if you can't remove them, they rapidly become a real pain. So to please everyone, a configurable UI is a must.

Best of all, give developers an API so I can program my own interface and/or make apps and widgets for others.
