You're probably stupid, sorry but I don't have a source for it.
Doubt it. Professional bodies have certain standards a university has to adhere to for professional degrees like medicine, engineering etc. If they don't they'll lose their accreditation.
I should hope so... All I'm saying is, given all quotas and differences for entry based on race, and point systems, I wouldn't be surprised if getting a degree also has some sort of quota system attached... (again, just my personal view and opinion, I have no source for it)

I don't understand what you mean by basic requirements? I was talking about the marks you need to get into University in my year. The marks required to enter were vastly different for different races. The exit requirements were the same

The UCT system has changed in the past year. It now uses a disadvantage score to adjust your weighted average points up.

I personally think it's a much better system as it gives rich black applicants who went to a great school a less of a disadvantage score than say a black applicant who is from a township.
In the past it was as described. For example it would be something like 35 points for whites, 34 for Indians 33 for Coloureds and 32 for blacks. It was like that for most degrees at UCT bar medicine which had explicit quotas as well as different entrance requirements.
Judging by the site you provided, they check all factors. I currently stay in suburbs and I don't expect my kids to score the same as those in rural areas because of all the things going against them. I don't understand why anyone will think such a system is unfair.
By the way Wits, Medunsa, UP, all have basic requirements that every applicant should meet regardless of skin colour. Thanks for that info. I honestly didn't know they do that in UCT
As I said it was only implemented in the past year, or it may have only been implemented from this year. It was also very controversial with many of the 'radical' black students calling it racist and anti-black.
Before hand admission requirments were based on a clear cut race hierachy.
