Dude, have it diagnosed properly first. The problem can still be on either side of the electronic sensor - if you replace it & it's not the problem, you'll be R450 - R500 more skint than what you are now. :)

Well, yesterday on my way home I notices that my fuel gauge is now also acting up. It will move up and down. When I look it my tank is on half....then 10 seconds later it is full again and so it went on. Due to this I have decided to rather take it to VW to investigate.
 
expect a nice big fat bill!
they gonna say u need a new cluster and that is gonna expensive

i know scrapyards sell them too - so maybe take it to an independant

Mmm... I might be able to offer you a little hope... Don't take my word as gospel, but new VWs exhibit the same two symptoms (dead speedo/wonky fuel gauge) when the fuse on the ABS circuit blows - along with a whole bunch of warning lights coming on, which is why I asked you what model you have.

I'm not familiar with the 1st gen Polos, but you might just get lucky with this. No... not like that.

Don't worry my friend, VW will fix it all for you and she will be all sweetness and light after that..just imagine, this is giving you one more chance to meet a nice hot mechanic boi who might keep you happy for a long time to come! :p

True dat ne! ....but I am fussy....if he aint a hairy chested burly grease munky...im not interested. :-) The appointment is for Tuesday. I am so nervous....scared they gonna have to put my babes on life support *cries*

hehe....this reminds me of those Castrol adds.

And the TV add where they have grease munkies operating on a car with the owners looking through the observation window....after finishing they the guy goes out to the owners..."we were lucky....THIS TIME!"

Love those adds hahahaha.
