The Sexual Offences Act was amended in 2008 when the Constitutional Court found it to be inconsistent with the Constitution as it referred to heterosexual acts with girls under 16 and homosexual acts with boys under 19. The was a huge push from several parties and pressure groups to amend the age, for both, to 18. The CC made it 16 and the relevant Act was amended as well.

So, no, this is not statutory rape and his relationship is perfectly legal under SA Law.
 
Besides that and the whole 'chemistry' thing.. the other VERY important thing is how old do you really look. I've met some people who are younger or the same age as myself but i'd have guessed 5-10yrs senior.(but it seems just i look younger in general) If it looks ok, then ok.. otherwise it just looks weird too. :P
 
The girls I have been involved with in "serious" relationships were a few years younger than me. I've decided that's about to change because IMO young, naive, delusional, immature girls are way too much trouble to deal with. I think there is no reaching a mutual understanding with 'em as you would with someone who is more mature even just mentally so.

IMO I suppose when you are in the middle about to cross over to a more serious (yet oddly more laid back in a way) stage you need a girl who is more independent and willing/prepared to commit a little more.

Simply put, younger girls just ain't worth the trouble unless you find those rare ones who are more mature than others. Mostly you will find you contribute the most and you are the one who decides where to go out and what to do all the time which eventually leads to a boring relationship and you getting the blame for it anyway while they just do their own thing.

Especially in my case because I'm a freakin emotional rollercoaster wreck in relationships I care about lol :D I suppose the only thing that will control me is a girl who slaps me sideways and puts her foot down and says if I don't like it I can f off :p hehe.

Oh and when you meet their friends you scheme wtf :/ because you can't hold a decent discussion with them. They haven't developed beliefs, philosophies, proper interests, proper goals yet. So what then? You sit around and talk about Justin Timberlake or cows all day long? Younger girls FTL!! :cool:

Not that much younger, so I'm basically the reverse role...

I don't like the "young, naive and delusional" comments though, I find it quite offensive.
