Age differences between men and women.

No reason it can't work. But if we're generalising, a 21 year old is likely to still want to get out and experience things that are old hat to a 34 year old, and something's got to give.

Having said that, you may not get too many genuinely mature 21 year olds, but you do get plenty of immature 34 years olds... so there is hope :p

Again a hypothetical situation.

The man is in his early thirties and the woman is in her early twenties. Basically a 7 - 13 year gap.

Why and in what way would a 34yo man be incompatible with 21yo woman? What are the general intentions and ambitions of a 34yo man suppose to be in comparison with the general intentions and ambitions of a 21yo woman.

Generalisations and stereotyping is in order here.

This has no bearing on me, like I said it's only hypothetical.

School girl fetish?? :-P LOL

Personally I find myself attracted to the ladies about my age +5. I guess its because I find the maturity attractive. I'm 25. Is this unusual?

I find the same and I am also 25 but 10+ years older ladies catch my eye. Maybe it is cause they look more mature than the younger women.

I think the age gap is not the problem, its the ages that they are at.

At 34 a dude is settling down and ready to start a family, moving away from his wild youth. At 21 a girl is just descoverying her freedom and doesn't really know what she wants out of life. Pretty much what Vegeta said.

It depends on which stage of her life this 21yr old is at. Some mature long before that age (like myself - was already buying my first property at that age). Others dont have direction in life & just want to go with the flow.

Then again, there are also immature 34yr olds who still have no direction in their lives.

At the end of the day, it all dwells down to what you both want & can handle as a couple.

This, I don't like this. All the people that feel sorry for themselves fall in this category, and all I have to say is WAKE UP!!

Well, I have a friend who is 25 dating a girl that is 49. They seem quite happy at this stage, so its all good I'd say. Whatever floats your boat.

I personally would not date someone that much older than me. My first boyfriend was 13 years older and I think back to myself, what was I even thinking. Wanted different things in life and I am so glad it only lasted 8 months....

I find most women in their early 20's to be a bit childish and unable to hold an intelligent conversation.

Same here. Went to a wedding recently and one of my high school mates were there with his date. He is 25 and she is in her 40's and they looked very happy together.

Agreed with this. My girlfriend is 21 and she is way more mature than most people her age. She has her own business that is very successful.

Well I'm only 22 but it's not difficult to see the difference in the girls 24+ and the girls around the 21 age. A lot of the girls at 21 may think they are mature (and to be fair, compared to their 18 year old self, they have come a long way). However the majority of them have just as little clue about what they want out of life and that makes them still act like their 18 year old self because they are still unwilling to accept any sort of responsibility. Then again perhaps I have just had a raw deal with the girls I've spoken to. The girls 24 above at least seem to me like they're trying to move out of that university party stage (not that there's anything wrong with having fun)

I'm 26 and feel the same way. Don't do it, Picard.

Who said anything about me wanting to do anything. I specifically said i'm not to implicated in anything.

Lots of your posts seem to start this way though, 'a friend of a friend of a friend's sister's boyfriend's house-sitter's doctor's dog walker's neighbour has a weird rash on their penis, what do you guys think that person should do about it?'
