Yes, I agree softmodding is pretty safe. On the other hand, hard modding, i.e. updating the card bios or using a soldering iron is only for the very brave.

I you see artifacts on the screen after doing the softmod, just undo whatever you did for the softmod. A hard mod on the other hand is often a one way street.

I've checked some forums and it can make a big difference so stop talking nonsense.

I got the Leadtek Winfast A400 which they say is one of the best cards for overclocking etc seeing as it's already got decent cooling.

The heatsinks on this thing are huge and on both sides of the card.

Can't wait to start playing around with it a bit later tonight.

do some research of your own, man ... and then go for the 6800 ... ;)
