Is AGP Texture Acceleration in DX9 needed for PCI Express display cards?

I don't think it's needed, but it should be default on all graphics cards if I'm not mistaken. I remember games like MOH and Mafia used it to create better looking textures, so turn it on and see for yourself ;)

On some of the machines with PCI-Express the enable function is disabled and on my machine it was enabled, then I disabled it, but err...now it's greyed out aswell

Okay, I've got a Geforce 6600, just checked and I don't have the option. I guess if the option is available in a game, you can use it, don't really know to be sure, too lazy to search ;) :D :p

Okay, you do realize what a moron I am right? AGP textures on PCIE???? I missread, there shouldn't be such a thing except if you had an AGP card installed previously and there's a stuff up with the drivers somehow, I highly doubt it's needed ;)

hehe, I think it's a NVidia Chipset driver stuff up... Seems like when it was enabled (be default ) my games would intermittently have display problems with intro videos etc. I disabled it yesterday to troubleshoot, so far so good, I just found it weird that the option is suddenly greyed out.

Lol, I thought it would be a driver issue or something. :p
