It's been crazy hot and I am looking for a good air-conditioner. What is a good brand 12000btu air-conditioner and which installer in the East London area gives the best prices?

there is no good brand 12000btu aircon unless you plan to cool a bathroom stall...
Amen to that, although my experience is with a 9000 btu portable unit.
It does a grate job at chowing electricity and removing humidity, but that's about it.

Sorry, how's that? A 12 00 BTU is specified for a room between 18 and 24 sqm. I installed one for my daughter's bedroom and on testing, got that room freezing cold.
See my post above yours.
And? You implied before that post, that a 12 000 BTU will not cool down any room bigger than a bathroom stall...and that is incorrect.
I'm picking up from this old thread, but anyway...
I want to install an air conditioner in my lounge. My dining room (a bigger room than the lounge) is open plan from the lounge, as such, but the entrance between the rooms is quite wide (probably two standard doorways and there is no door.
Do I need to get an aircon big enough for the entire floor space, or will a unit installed in the lounge cool that room enough?
Samsung make crap split unit a/c's.
Based on what? I have three Samsung units at my house that seems to be working faultless in this mild weather be having.Samsung make crap split unit a/c's.
I don't necessarily want to run both at the same time whenever I'm in either room. It'll cool both rooms but you'll need 18-24k btu. Might work out cheaper to have 2x 9000 or 12k btu installed, one in each room. The best thing would be to speak to an installer and have them take a look.

I would like to ask an installer, but don't want to waste their time because I'll be buying the AC unit from Makro with my ebucks discount, and using a recommended installer (so as not to void my warranty)
