mine is literally back to back for the 18k

and about 5m of copper from the one part of the room to the wall thats "outside" where the outdoor will go

no fancy stuff

and yeah AC shows around r3k

does AC also do the electrical or must you do it

also does 12 and 18k need to be on the board or can it be done to a plug point with an isolator
ACdirect doesn't do electrical.. You need to get electrical sorted before they come out to install, so they are able to connect and test..

18K must go to DB, with isolator within reach of the outside unit.. 12k can be on a standard plug point, but ideally should also be on its own circuit breaker, not sharing with any existing plugs.. Because you need the 18k to go to the DB, might as well do the 12k too.. only real additional cost is the extra wire and isolator required..

furk it, just for simple aircon must do 100 things more

cause now my DB dont have space so i need to probably expand
 
one last question since i think i have come to a conclusion with my choices

alliance or midea

midea has a 10 yr warantee , alliance as 5

apparently alliance better with warantee
 
Can't speak for Alliance. But I've been very happy with my Breezeless Midea. Ran nicely in summer and serving us well so far in winter. 12000BTU

chatgpt says the only difference is the noise levels

other than that they basically the same

the big diff is the alliance is around 2k cheaper for me , which is can do with compared to the normal midea

the breezeless is more pricey

It will work obviously, and whether you need an isolator depends on the rated current draw of the unit not the actual BTU rating (that is just use to make it easier).

The problem comes in when the plug feeding your aircon is on a circuit feeding other plugs and they also have high amp draw appliances running at the same time as the aircon..

You would need just a kettle and a microwave on that same circuit as the aircon for the plug breaker to start tripping, for example..

my whole kitchen is on a totally separate breaker . ive never had one trip so far using the AC

Yes, I was using those as an example.. the point is, it's very easy to overload the circuit if you have an AC running on it as well, especially a 18k btu and not everyone knows which plugs are on which breakers, like you do...

My alliance unit is loud, but so is my normal midea..

If you want silence, you gotta pay for it.. my Daikin is quiet, but scored that second hand for an absolute steal..

I'm happy I went with the Daikin's, their entry level ones (Sensira) are the same price as your Samsung/LG, etc. so not really much of premium over those brands but pricier than Alliance/Midea.

Outdoor units are very quiet, even the big one I have you can hardly hear it. Indoor unit obviously depends on your fan setting but I mostly have mine on silent mode and they are pretty quiet.

and yes i am going for the normal alliance and midea
im not paying crazy money for breezeless and silence
