Aircon recommendations

Quite a few posts were deleted, including a rather pleasant one from Tabac.....
I had 1 deleted, did you report him? LOL, thanx

Moving along: please buy the Samsung inverter air cons, make sure it says Inverter on it, a friend of mine has one in his bedroom, when it starts up it works like a normal air con and as soon as it gets to set temperature the motor slows down and idles maintaining that same temp, as a result he sees his air con only using 700 watts power. That is damn good.

Looking all around. Really not finding any local Aircon installers in my area that has any stock.
They eventually installed about a week ago. Not 100% happy with the install, but it is what it is.

I expected it to be pretty heavy on electricity given that I had an 18k BTU installed, but it seems to consume around 500w when set to 22*C with a fan speed of 60%.

All that considered I doubt I can recommend AC Direct as it was a fight to get them to install, but perhaps it was just with the Black Friday/Port issues that I hit an unlucky time to want to have it installed. The fact that it was delivered mid December didn’t help either as most installers had shut down by then.

I know a guy that went to AC Direct and bought one on the spot, brought it home, and had it installed by a 3rd party the next day. also 18000BTU.

EDIT: This was end of November/Begining of December. Can't remember the exact date.

Tabac and I were bonding big time ;)

I've just got quotes from ACDirect and Cape Climate. AC is cheaper, but they say excludes DB board connection and ETA is end Jan...,and who knows how much longer it could be based on previous posts here.

Just checking finer details with the other firm.

And yes - looking at the Samsung inverters.

Nice, keep us informed please, would love to know the costs all involved here, I cannot imagine the DB board installation can cost that much but at the end of the day you do need a qualified electrician to do the work in case of fire or whatever and insurance company wont pay out etc.

I have two lg dual inverter 18k, 9k and I just bought a 24k Samsung digital inverter.

I'm done with samsung and alliance aircons.
Replaced 2 alliance and 4 samsungs in one year. The el cheapo sinclair thats 4 years old not giving me a single issue.

Cape Climate includes DB, but they are also expecting stock "in a couple of weeks".

Also wondering the reliability of Alliance Inverter Units...

Had ordered 2 Jet Air Inverter units (have one for over 3 years now and it never skipped a beat, haven't serviced either) , but there is no stock anywhere, so my installer advised that he can do Alliance Inverters instead.

I see they have a decent warranty - so may go ahead and pull the trigger.. opinions ?

Did you have them serviced?
All aircons gets serviced 1x per year.
The electrician says it's the solar/inverter that caused them to break. I dont understand how that's even possible.
