Can anyone answer a question my local Telkom shop was unsure about: is there any limit (as there is with Vodacom for example) to the amount of prepaid airtime you can transfer to another prepaid SIM on the 8ta network? Thanks!

I've checked the 8.ta website, and can't find anything to suggest a limit. So the way I see it as that if they have not stated a limit, then there probably is no limit.

Hi there

There actually is a limit. We will get our website administrator to update the website with this information. The limit is R50 per day and there is a monthly limit of R2000.

Thanks for the prompt response. One follow-up question please: the SIM to which I wish to transfer is a promotional-data-only SIM, so that I can use my excess airtime from my phone to buy regular promotional data packages (the 2GB+1GB for R149 deal) on that SIM. Still allowed?

No Problem Terencek

If by excess airtime you are referring to the free airtime received when loading airtime, then this is not possible. E.g if you load R100 airtime, you will receive R100 airtime free which has to be used in 7 days. You will only be able to transfer the R100 you loaded initially.

Yes I was indeed referring to actual paid airtime to transfer, not the free airtime. Thanks again for such good communication on this forum!

Perhaps telkom choose to lower this limit to R200 per month..you can actually transfer R100 per day..in two days you are done ..this is really unfair limiting us how we should spend our money

Is there a way of increasing this telkom airtime transfer limit or a workaround it.. I really need to transfer airtime to a sim card locked in a remote router monthly
