Its a good enough car.
The QV is not bad, but not that much better than the normal 1.4T engines.

There is a facelift coming very very soon!

You can get second hand ones for pretty cheap.

Agreed, you should get a used one for a very good price.

The biggest problem with the QV is torque steer - the basic 1.4 is actually nicer to drive as a result.

Nope that's me. Wish this forum would notify me of mentions. The Giulietta is an excellent, reliable and sexy car. I still long for my Alfa, but the Audi is doing its thing :) I had the QV and while I didn't ride her particularly hard, I never lacked for anything either. As Fazda mentioned, torque steer is a bit much and the clutch is a bit hard on the manual - other than that she was a beaut!

I was actually looking at getting a 2008/2009 spider for a weekend delight but flip me, they're expensive still!
 
@Izzy did your Giulietta give any trouble?

@Fazda how expensive is the car to maintain post the maintenance plan?
 
Very pretty car that, and has quite the punch.

My brother drives one. Unfortunately his turbo gave in 2 months after his maintenance plan ran out. Having an extended one would be smart as it is still Alpha.

Any car is expensive to maintain post maintenance plan. You just never know what is going to break next.

How long is a piece of string?

Look, they are basic 1.4 motors, that shouldn't require anything exotic, but so much depends on the particular car in the end. Services are at 30 000 intervals, so at least you can plan around that.

Only trouble was a niggle with the Bluetooth (would not connect after a few months) and a sound from the engine bay which they couldn't locate. Eventually they did a brake upgrade and it somewhat dissipated but would come back intermittently. Didn't affect anything though, was just a arb sound once in a blue moon.
 
I own a QV - 2012 model.

It hit 64k km the other day. The maintenance plan on my model was 6 years/105k Km. It is true, they cover everything, except tyres, brakes and windscreen wipers (pretty standard on most plans) but they do cover oil at the 35k Km service (saw someone mentioned it above), however the 17.5km oil change, the oil is not covered (However this is a R500 job).

I must say they have treated me better than my dad has been treated with his 335i BMW (and my alfa has had less issues). You just have to use arnold chatz in Hyde park, they are the best for an Alfa service or query. My car had a rough idle, so they changed the cambelt at 28k Km (included in motorplan) and they tend to every query i have (i can be a bit anal when it comes to my car). There have been no other problems with the car, it just goes for its service when required. The only issue you will have with the QV, is that you have to take it to atleast a stage 1 remap to beat all the "stock" (read stage 2 modified) golf GTi's in a robot race :P

Also my Insurance is R1.1k a month.

Cool thank you. Has the maintenance plan changed from 6 years to 3? I was told its 3 years 100 000km?

Yes i think from the end of 2013 they changed to 3 Years/ 100k Km.

Also with regards to the facelift, it is out already. Its 99% interior changes (Touch screen, different seats/steering wheel) But from the outside only an alfisti would notice.

So I need to look at the 2012 model to get the full maintenance plan for 6 years? I thought the 6 years was only a service plan
 
On my way past Canal Walk; opposite them is the huge Alfa/Fiat/Abarth/Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler dealer.

On the way there goes this new 2015 black Giulietta 1750TBi QV.

Damn...the exhaust on it...really impressed!

Deep & throaty; better then you get on many many other 2L turbo motors.

This is a stock dealership car so exhaust should be not aftermarket...

Even though the Giulietta is a few yrs old it's still a mighty fine ride
Oh btw; RRP on a 2015 QV? R433k...eina
