All the major DStv changes coming soon

How hard is it to :
- Keep the multiple streams.
- Make a full sports-only package for sub R500 - maybe even on a 24 month contract or something to claw back some losses of premium users switching over ?
- Add some optional 4K channels at an additional fee per month for those with bigger pockets ? Personally I would happily pay an extra R199pm to watch rugby, the premier league and F1 in 4K.

They'd make a lot of money with this approach.

R199 for 40 + 40 GB from Afrihost (MTN) covers what's needed, and even manage to rollover data every month.

Every 2 months, get Telkom 7.5 +7.5 GB for R99 just as backup.

Currently thinking of going for Telkom 250 + 50 GB ( 10 Mbps then down to 4 Mbps) for R229, and downgrading the MTN to 5 + 5 GB at R99 for 7pm to midnight.

Open to other suggestions, but I like some DStv for the convenience factor, not only for myself.
Pity you did not get one of the Vodacom black friday specials. I got 300gb for R300 per month.

I'm currently paying R300 for data, R30 for a VPN and about R120 for Disney plus.

If you are stupid enough to pay for this rubbish you deserve all the headaches.
DSTV is like CNN nobody in their right minds watches this rubbish and dont tell me you pay almost 1k just for sport. Then you are an even bigger moron
1K for sports is well worth it. If you don't have DStv , then why comment here and calling people 'morons' ?

I considered getting the last one on offer which was R349 for 400 + 400, I think?
But ultimately, decided against it because I don't like contracts.

I realise there are many ways to "skin this cat" .....

.... I can get 1TB FUP fibre (30 down / 3 up) for R388 pm from Home Connect on Frogfoot, but partly owing to how unreliable FF has been & continues to be in this area (PE and surrounds), it's put me off.

And not much is recorded here on MyBB about Home Connect, so I just don't know how good their customer service is.

Added to the costs, would be at least R1,500 for a mesh router setup and then the 2 B525 routers I have now would largely go to waste.

If I could get Discovery Plus easily, I'd consider fibre more, though.

For now, a mixture of DStv and internet is probably most prudent for our setup.

Cause they have to use all the other channels to subsidise the cost of the sport by selling advertising. When I worked there, ages ago, I was told someone did the math and a sports only package would be like R2k on it's own.

I don't care about the sport but please give me the link where my retired mom can stream all the Afrikaans shows that they have on DSTV.
