All things Shelly

Kindly explain your reason for making such a strange request, and do you intend to try and gag anyone else?
Yes, that is a very strange request, since we actually started this entire IoT subforum.

We're been registered Shelly resellers for two years - and have distributed plenty of products at cost to raise awareness. We've done nothing but be supportive of Shelly.

Fortunately @rpm, and not @ShellySA, is the sheriff around here.

Takealot have thousands of uncertified products, listed.
Out of interest, how'd you know they are uncertified products listed?

I've been dealing with Takealot for a while and they have a team dedicated to compliance anyway. It wasn't setup to catch you out ;)

Many times Takealot do spot checks on the market place, even after listing. Sometimes twice in the same year even though nothing has changed with the product . I often get someone requesting a certificate when he's running on Takealot. Brick and mortar stores are worse, but it makes sense since they have risk.

I wouldn't think that straight away it was something malicious and Takealot have an agenda.

They'll get flack from the authorities if they are listing non-compliant products.

Damn - didn't realise it would be that much smaller.
Yes I think this is what would be required. As I only want the geysers to turn on when there is enough solar to cover it. I would then also set it to turn on at a specific time each day, just in case it is raining or not producing enough solar. Will start with the geysers and see how we go.
Shelly H+T combined with a 1PM, is great for Air conditioners.

@phaktza, please we ask that you refrain from commenting on this thread.
/crosses Shelly off list of products to consider for further iot stuff

Shelly South Africa does not subscribe to slander, manipulation and tactics of capitalist bullying of any kind.
I'll be sure to take my capitalist spend elsewhere.

Maybe don't write Shelly off entirely - they're good quality products. We're excited to hopefully hear about an alternative supply chain for Shelly products next week (hint: it won't be us taking the risk on imports).

Ok so I'm gonna attempt to hook up a Shelly 1 to the pool pump.

I tested it with a 3 pin plug and a simple light + light switch to see if I'm comfortable with the wiring and it doesn't seem too bad.

I updated the firmware on the Shelly to the latest version.

Just unsure about the button type.

My pool pump setup looks like this:

I wired my sonoff after the timer... And set the times always on.

I wasn't interested in having an OR by wiring in the breaker switch.

If you wire in the breaker or timer as a switch into the Shelly, so you can use the Shelly OR the switch/breaker.

My pool is just wired in series - everything is either on or off. Shelly gives you the option of using either a hardwired switch to control power, or the Shelly.

I wanna get rid of that manual “dial style” timer on the pool. I want the Shelly to handle the daily on/off schedule but still have the ability to flick the manual switch on/off if needed.

Ya, then you need to remove the timer and wire in the breaker - you might need to post a picture of your wiring for more advice.

My Shelly 1 on my outside lights was just left as the default switch, which I imagine would be the same for a pool pump.

Ya toggle switch option

Considering your business relationship with ShellySA, I recommend that you obtain clarity from ShellySA off-forum.

You should also consider contacting @rpm to register as a dealer on MBB.

As for the publicly posted request from @ShellySA that you should refrain from posting in this thread, I would still like ShellySA to clarify that publicly posted request. Presumably it is due to the business relationship that you have with ShellySA and that ShellySA would rather be their own spokesperson on MBB, and that no one else will be asked to gag themselves.

To clarify, neither I nor SmartKit have any business relationship with @ShellySA outside of this forum.

We have a relationship with Shelly in Bulgaria, but the response from Europe is that @ShellySA does not represent the company locally, in South Africa.
