The benefits of having your own store......

I wonder who ratted you guys out? Competition on this forum or did Takealot investigate?

For grid tie, you would need Shelly EM with a couple of 50 amp coils

Here's a brochure link

Shelly EM
I currently do this with an electronic timer on my geysers, but this is set to a fixed time, so i just wanted to set it to something like, if Shelly 1pm (is showing say 2kw, then turn on Shelly 1pm for geyser 1. That sort of thing. I currently only have 2.4kw of solar production.

Shelly 1PM can switch off at pre-determined load

Ok experience in setting up without tasmota:
ewelink is slightly more user friendly, although both are not very intuitive.
The web interface on the M1 is excellent. Seems that after initial setup you don't need the cloud service anymore.

@Greglsh this is where you pre-define the load for off and on function.

Thanks @ghostim

I dont read his statement the same way you do. He is wanting to use a shelly to read his solar production or input. and if it is big enough (2kw or more) he is wanting to switch on another shelly that powers his geyser.

Not sure you can use a shelly to measure only.

Also had a few in my cart. It just ads up to quickly though... Can't you ship that removal order directly to me @ShellySA?

Another +1 towards the multi-packs.

No problem, 1PM for geyser and EM to future proof power metering for the photo voltaic, as more panels are added.

We anticipated backlash launching on this forum and would like to state that Shelly South Africa does not subscribe to slander, manipulation and tactics of capitalist bullying of any kind.

The creation of this thread, a continuation of the European and US social media threads and a requirement of the founder of Shelly, Dimitar Dimitrov, to be of a technical nature, to educate and have new and existing users excited about IoT and Shelly's contribution to this Industry.

We apologize for placing the cart before the hoarse and will expedite local certification in conjunction with CE and UL listings.

We will continue tech matters, to "all things Shelly."

Yes I think this is what would be required. As I only want the geysers to turn on when there is enough solar to cover it. I would then also set it to turn on at a specific time each day, just in case it is raining or not producing enough solar. Will start with the geysers and see how we go.

That's a pity. These are great little products - I have a few myself. Several of us have tried to bring them to market but suffered the same fate without local certifications. Unfortunately that's the price of dealing with Africa - I also had one of those days today.
