All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Once im more comfortable with the water backup i'll go back and look at upgrades for the solar. 1 more battery and at least 12 more panels then i wont be touching it again for 5-8 years

Wow, what is your system size and where are you based ?
8kW Sunsynk inverter, 10kWh Sunsynk battery and 10x 550W JA solar panels. Geyser is on a schedule with a sonoff smart switch. I'm in Bloemfontein. Just 2 adults so the load is very manageable.

My data refresh/update interval has been set to 60 seconds for as long as I can remember, with 1 minute refreshes working fine, until about 14h00 on 27 Sep 2024 (last Friday) when refresh intervals went back to 5 minutes, regardless of gateway being set to every 60 seconds. There was SS portal downtime somewhere last week, but I'm not sure if related and if 5 min intervals are now forced regardless of gateway setting?

Anyone else?

Yes - all 3 systems in my profile are back to 5min refreshing - changed after that downtime which you mentioned. Annoying AF!

Sunsynk has a real communication problem

Same. Mine was set to 1 minute and after the recent outage, it's back to 5 minutes. Hopefully they will restore it back to 1 minute after their maintenance, otherwise I will have to ask my solar guy to change it back.

I don't think solar guy will be able to override SunSank IT guy... mine is set to 60 seconds and still updates only every 5-7 minutes it seems...
Does anyone see a 60 second refresh interval yet? (excluding those blessed with Solar Ass)

I've given up caring about the SunSynk app and hardly ever look at it.

Solar Assistant + Home Assistant is all I use these days.

@JoE seems to have his set to 60s again. Whether it actually updates at 60s or not is another story.

I asked my solar guy if he can request SunSynk for mine be set back to 60s, and he said he would ask and get back to me.

Is your timer showing a refresh of 5 minutes? Mine is still set at 60s but I'm only getting a 5 minute refresh. I don't think your solar guy will be able to do anything, it has to be set from Sunsynk, and they'll only do it when they do it for all most probably.

My guy confirmed this but I've not had the opportunity to physically check on the inverter to confirm.

not sure if it was on this thread or i saw on FB - but lots of Volta batteries BMS need a software update - that fixed issues like this - maybe check with Installer to get his Volta rep to come out an check
Just got the BMS updated by the installer. Still the same issue. Will ask installer to get someone from Volta to come and check

I've got a 8kw single phase deye inverter, which currently has the max of 18 panels. Would the 12kw or 16 be able to handle more?

What panels do you have? Voltage and amps of the panels?

I've got a total of 10.37kwp of solar panels. It's not limited to the number of panels but the voltage and amps of the strings.

5 545w and 4 550w per string in series. I'm at the volt limit on each mppt
