Wanted to confirm earlier and completely forgot. Battery cable sizing, currently, i've got battery to fuse holder 25mm, at 300mm in length. Then from the fuse holder to the inverter 25mm at 1 meter.

Something tells me I should be using 35, not 25?

That depends on the battery you have. 25mm2 is good for 170A.

Dont think the 170a rating for 25mm2 is correct.
All the calculators ive seen say you will need 70mm cable for 175a at 48v.
25mm2 is probably good for 100a.
50mm2 for 125a.

I worked off the attached image. Very open for correction on this though - certainly not my area of expertise

Can someone help? I'm trying to get my battery to discharge at night from 23:00 to 8:30, but it just keeps it at 100% all the time no matter what I input and only discharges during loadshedding. I don't see what I'm doing wrong. IMG_20230130_165044.jpgIMG_20230130_165107.jpg

Hmm me neither to be honest so your table also makes me wonder what is correct.

Rookie mistake. Order your timing chronologically from 00H00 (first entry), 23H59 (last entry). Not doing this used to confuse the timer a bit.

I would also remove the grid tick on the first entry.

Is the date and time correct on your inverter?
This is also a possibility, there is a setting to use a (central undefined) NTP server, and they did change my TZ once to a different one without me asking them to. Worthwhile to check.

It's a Hubble AM2, 115 rated capacity (Going off the sticker on the side)

Both sites roughly recommend 35mm, so I might need to swap the set out for 35's
 
I paid R3500 for mine, that's a very good price.

What is the cost of decommissioning your battery, un-mounting it, putting it in your car and driving it through to the workshop, just for them to do diagnostics, and then all the way back again, mount and commission again?
So i've got it setup to the point where I can monitor the battery.. nothing from the inverter. Followed step by step and just can't seem to get the inverter on the cloud platform to display.
Good news is, the battery charged up quite quick and is sitting at 100% after 01:16H of charge.

Any specific reason for this ? I ask because I have my midnight to early morning grid charge slot ticked. If you have limited storage like I do (5kwh) and you can get hit with two load sheds during the night, i.e Stage 6 with a 4 hour and a 2 hour slot I ran out of power before the sun comes up. Even worse if it is a cloudy day !

I think the suggestion was to try resolve the specific problem he was answering.
You can have grid ticked there if you feel you need it. Generally the guys with bigger batteries don't tick it to keep the eskom costs lower.

If you untick it, it just means that at that % or less your load will be supported by the grid but battery not charged via grid. Then when solar comes around it will charge your battery.

I also have a 5kwh battery and how I do it is:
5pm-3am is grid charge and 100%
3am to 7am is no grid charge and 50%
7am to 5pm is no grid charge and 30%
This has worked well for me so far to give me cost savings and to survive loadshedding stage6.
If I see it's a crappy day then I will make adjustments as needed.
I'm sure in winter I'll be more conservative and change a lot

True, it should work even if ticked, but I was trying to remove all possible issues, even bugs. @Fcon_Vpro is a mind reader :cool::

Thanks for the explanation.
It is so hard to find a balance between optimal battery usage, surviving load shedding and not having to tweak settings constantly based on weather patterns.
I have grid charge ticked everywhere but I slowly raise the battery level during the day. Normally the solar takes care of it but if the weather is kak and the battery is low the grid chargers it. Don’t want to reach 5pm on a bad day and have a low battery and load shedding during dinner time.
