Armour cable for my outside run to the DB, regular cable for the conduited runs between boxes and inverters.

If you desperate for cable then there are a few ways around:Here I sit, inverter battery and all components ready to go. Install due today and cannot for the life of me find any cabling in Cape Town.
No stock of 6mm Twin and Earth
No stock of 10mm Twin and Earth
What did you use for your install?
I know this isnt answering your question but just a heads up.![]()
Is anybody feeding back into the grid in Tshwane? I'm installing in about a month, and have an old school circular disc power meter, which I'd like to get to turn back a bit for a reserve.
I'm aware of this. Apparently there's a gadget of some sorts that would kill the feedback if no power comes inI know this isnt answering your question but just a heads up.
Dont do it unless your power provider approves it.
Even if your meter spins back, the power techs working on systems down stream can be killed.
Your inverter should do this.I'm aware of this. Apparently there's a gadget of some sorts that would kill the feedback if no power comes in
I'm not asking for any help, but good to know.I can't help you Ron.
Great. I'm not too familiar just yet with all the technical details. Will check with the installerYour inverter should do this.
Spin that baby back. I certainly would if I had one.![]()

Does anyone know why the inverter did not trip during this incident?

Do you have non essentials? All that load might not be on the essential side. Non essentials surplus demand is just taken from the grid.Does anyone know why the inverter did not trip during this incident?

8KW SunSynk can do 50A (basically 11kW) when grid is availableDoes anyone know why the inverter did not trip during this incident?

Yes, I am feeding back and am saving heaps of money as long as the grid is up.Is anybody feeding back into the grid in Tshwane? I'm installing in about a month, and have an old school circular disc power meter, which I'd like to get to turn back a bit for a reserve.

If you have a good inverter, it stops the backfeed once the grid is down.Even if your meter spins back, the power techs working on systems down stream can be killed.
Nope mine is correct:Does anybody else have issues with the Generation Purpose on the web view? It works fine on the app on my iPhone but clearly the mathematics is wrong somewhere...

Nope mine is correct:

But I think it might add consumption from the battery to the Consumption figure while on the graph it shows only how the power generated by your PV was distributed.
Nope. Just an old meter.Assume you need to be in a location that supports this - i.e. I assume Eskom or muni permission is required.
Nope, but I have the right type of meter.Assume you need to be in a location that supports this - i.e. I assume Eskom or muni permission is required.
A misconfiguration or faulty inverter or firmware could bite you legally big time.
