All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

You can if you use a reverse proxy or a vpn (eg: tailscale), you will essentially be in control of the security.
If you go the reverse proxy route you can use authelia, authentik, keycloak to secure all of your sites.

My SA runs on my IoT network that doesn't have internet access (unless I specifically allow the device), but by using a reverse proxy I can still access the device.
Do you use Nginx or Apache or other?

Anyone ever clean their panels? We had high wind last week and I have noticed a fine layer of dust on the panels. There are now some streaks from evening dew runs.

I'm concerned about leaving water marks on the panels if I was to just spray them with a hosepipe from the ground or standing on a ladder leaning on the gutter. Usually rain would sort it out, but we don't have any forecast for the foreseeable future.

For us solar newbies, what sort of production drop off can we expect in Winter? So far on my 4.4kw setup, I've noticed the daily arc peaking at a around 3.2kw, whereas when the system was installed around mid February, it would reach closer to 3.5-3.7kw as part of the daily arc in the graph.
Last year I peaked at around 75% of kWp. In summer it's around 90%...

Hey man,

Can you please tell me how you access this?
Just apply same steps to the browser

You might need to request advanced user access from sunsynk:
Fill out the form there

Use a browser, go to sunsynk.net and login, choose your plant;
On the LHS menu, choose Equipment, then Gateway. You will see your dongle/s listed;
On the far RHS of your dongle listing, hit the 3 dots in the "More" column and select "Settings";
You will see a popup with "Data Interval", adjust in seconds as necessary.

Do you need "advanced user" access to change this?

Thanks man, think i need advanced user access... when I click the three dots, I just get "unbind" as an option

What does the SS do if you uncheck USE TIMER in system mode? My system is set on Priority Battery.

Pretty sure it just acts like a UPS then and it will always use solar then grid when available. When grid goes down then it would use solar and battery, and charge battery if there is excess solar. When grid comes back then any solar would go to battery first, then load if there is excess, and grid would handle any of the other load.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.

I do. I had a bit of a disaster when the plumber drained my solar geyser onto the upper roof and some sludge was evacuated along with the dregs of water onto the lower roof, splashing on my panels. That stuff is almost impossible to clean off. I can still see a yellow tinge to the panels where it splashed. It hasn't affected production as far as I can see... but I was not happy.

I use a long handle squeegee and hosepipe to gently clean them.

Ha, this exact squeegee.
Haha, I have one in my shower as well. I use the squeegee side to rub over the shower head's rubber nipples every so often when the water starts shooting at all angles instead of just down. The heads are mounted to the ceiling that is moer high.

In my "Company " which I set up (Swanson Solar), I created 3 roles: CEO, Installer and Viewer.

Who set your company profile up? Get them to assign access. Here is a listing for my "Viewer" role:

Thoughts on the below kit/quote? Seems to be the best I've gotten so far.

Geyser (3kW) will be on aux/non-essential until I add more batteries. Haven't seen my peak draw in the kitchen go over 3.5kW with our current usage patterns so planning to put that on essential. Other than that I don't have any other high power appliances like pool pumps or tumble dryers. Dishwasher maxes 2.2kW but I can manage it.

My roof is weirdly shaped so I'm trying to maximise the 1 portion of flat roof space I have (rectangular space, 3.8M x 8M) and then adding another string later on after getting more batteries. This portion of the roof is NE facing.

I would like 500-600W panels to maximise the space and also have some headroom for panel degradation but the supplier says it would be too much for the MPPT and I'm not seeing how. Bear with me if my calculations are off, I only started reading up about this on Saturday :ROFL:

The Sunsynk 8kW has 18A on the input with a range of 125-425V.

Canadian 545W
Voc: 41.5
Isc: 13.95
Dimensions: 2261 ˣ 1134

I should be able to fit 9 panels so:

41.5*9 = 373.5V which is in range of the MPPT.

Will this work?

My wife would complain about that lol. Ours isn't even on the ceiling but it's too high for her to adjust haha.

@RonSwanson , we can take this via PM?
I wish to have my wife have insight on the SoC to plan/decide when to start dishwasher/cooking/etc.
Would this be an option for "view only"?
If yes, link to "how to", phuleeze?
I am not IT challenged, just a newbie with a Sunsynk 5kW for a week now, monitoring via the mobile app.
Thanks in advance.
