Mine is online ... 25min after your post thoughIs anyone else having issues with the sunsynk dongle being offline ?
Nope. Ticking Solar Export will send solar power to the grid. Thanks so much all! Really appreciate it!! Sheesh their descriptions are not great - I gotta pick up their lingo so I stop getting so confused.
So just to confirm, if I want excess Solar to be used to power non-essentials, then I tick "Zero Export" and "Solar Export".
No, the grid trickle feed is from the grid to your inverter. It is a constant feed (adjustable) that ensures that no electrons from your inverter flow back toward the grid, and also helps if you have a sensitive prepaid meter that detects backfeed and cuts out due to "suspicious tampering".I then set the Inverter Power Limter to 0. Thereby ensuring I'm not feeding back into the grid?
It will draw from battery as well, which is why you need to use a timer of some sort if you do not want to drain the battery.Question:
- If I set the above, will it only draw from the excess PV to power the non-essentials, or will it also draw from the battery?
Zero export and limt to load only will result in all of your essential loads being serviced, only. Tick it and observe the differences in the flow chart. Untick it and do the same. Do you see now?
- What would ticking "Zero Export" and "Limit To Load Only" result in?

No problems with my 2 installations.Mine is online ... 25min after your post though

Sorry for all the questions.. real noob here with this and trying to learn.

You are right, the SS manuals are full of errors. Thanks so much guys!
@RonSwanson and @B-1 seems to be a debate about ticking solar export?
ps.. i love that the sunsynk manual has that diagram that you shared @RonSwanson, but there's no number 7 on the diagram

What happened to your fingers .. Liz ? Anycase - Click that Priority load. We, too have joined the cool kids club. Still trying to figure out what works for us. They initially installed the wrong inverter and after they came to replace it the app now doesn't work and we have to wait three weeks to have the gateway resetView attachment 1463809View attachment 1463811
Thanks so much! Both ways might work, I based mine off of the video I shared earlier and its been doing its job. Its easy enough for you to try it and look on the graph to see what's happening as long as you don't trip the street meter.
Excellent, thanksThis is how mine is configured, I also use "non essential".
I don't export that's why "inverter power limiter" is set to 0w so you can set yours to 5000w or something.
I also have loadshedding and keep my SOC\v higher as well as having the grid top up the battery. So uncheck the grid boxes and change the SOC.

This video helped me a lot when I was trying to figure things out:
B is the answer. the % set the lowest the battery will be used until. if the battery is lower than that % it will then use the grid to get it up to that %sooooo glad i found this forum.
I'm feeling out of my depths, and I am getting mixed messaged from my solar guys about my new install.
Can I confirm if my understanding is correct.
Based on my attached image, if we use 5am to 9am as an example,
Does this mean
a - "Charge from the GRID when battery is 40% and higher", or
b - "Charge from grid to get the battery up to 40%, but then stop"
This is also the default setting from the installers, is it correct?
Thanks guys
(so glad I found you!)
I chewed it off one evening during a 4 hour bout of loadshedding. What happened to your fingers .. Liz ? Anycase - Click that Priority load.

It depends. Pic of your meter ?We have an old electric meter, can we feed solar electricity back to make it turn the other way? Is that advisable? Most people on here seem to not want to feed back to the grid, and I'm not sure why
