All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

This morning I noticed my equipment tab in the Sunsynk Connect App has no devices. Then after a while, my inverter reappears but the graphs are all blank with no data.

Think this is a Sunsynk server issue? The home screen is still showing me current battery lever and grid/load usage, but the detailed equipment pages are all blank.

Main screen is updating every 5min as normal, to show grid/load/battery floating watts, so connection is fine.
Mine is doing the same so probably a general issue

perhaps a stupid question but here goes - if you do not have a meter that supports counting backwards and are not signed up to feed back into grid, but your inverter feeds some back into the grid due to a configuration problem, what happens?

does your meter count it as usage? or does it ignore it?

Depends on the meter. Some will trip, some will measure it as usage and some will ignore it.

But if you check in the "monthly solar production..." thread you will see a lot of people have some feedback.

I had a faulty CT coil and mine did this. Triggered the anti-tamper and tripped the meter so no power flow either way. Needed to get City Power out to unlock it.

my inverter has pushed back to the grid on a number of occasions and i have not ever had an issue, my meter is in a locked box on the corner of the street though - i just have one of those landis+gyr pin pads at home.

i assume it just pushes back through the inverters eskom input which could theoretically be distributed amongst the main board circuits that are not on the inverter before it pops out to the box again (i am 3 phase and the inverter sits on 1 of the phases)? or am i oversimplifying things here.

What does your app say your export amount is per month?
Mine exports about 0.1-0.2 kwh per month
I'm sure it's just the differences between what the inverter pushes back vs the ct coil changes

If it's very small amounts it's not an issue. Mine tried to feed like 3kW through it.

Not sure what you're trying to say in your second sentence. You can connect non-essential loads between the CT coil and the inverter and those will run as if you have a grid-tied inverter (i.e. they will run only when the grid is available but will use solar, battery or grid power depending on what's available). Which is useful for things like geysers or pool pumps that you don't want to run during loadshedding.

1:04 - use a single breaker for the grid and a single breaker for the load... you don't want individual breakers

That's how I would have done it in the absence of the manual's diagram... that diagram is at odds with what he is saying is essential... correct?
I suppose if you want independent protection you can add the extra breakers to each inverter, but have those connected to a two-pole isolator for each channel (DC, Grid, Load)?
You are right, huge contradiction.
I find the sunsynk documentation to be pretty bad in general. I see deye has the same terrible diagram.
I guess it all comes down to the breakers must be "in sync". Hence why you can use a 3 phase breaker for up to 3 grid inputs or 3 load inputs.
If 1 grid breaks they must all break, if 1 battery input breaks they must all break.

I'd suggest following Keith's advice.

No contradiction at all.
1) You need breakers for everything; and
2) You need to ensure that you operate the breakers at the same time.
 
In Keith's vid: 1:09 regarding the battery circuit "If you're going to use a breaker, put all your batteries on THE breaker to the busbar, then from the inverter to the busbar. You don't want individual breakers"
That's in contrast to the diagram.
1:20 "If you've got a breaker on the grid use a 3 phase breaker... if it's 3 phase... or a single phase, you just put the three of them into one breaker"
Again, a contradiction of what's in the diagram from the manual.

Only way you'll achieve 2 is if it's a single breaker. Not what the manual is calling for.
The diagram is conceptual, not reality.
 
You can still have a conceptual diagram that represents reality.
one breaker per channel. 3 inverters. It's not hard.
Then offer to redraft it to your own extremely high standards. Maybe you can sell it to Keith.

A breaker is a breaker, anywhere in the circuit. It does no matter where you place it. How many circuit diagrams have you ever read? And drafted?

It will continue to deplete battery until the battery shutdown % OR until grid / PV come alive again
 
need some guidence here. After loadshedding the grid came back and my system tripped, I thought it was due to high loads and it came back on a few minutes later. Just checked again and grid is still down (am th eonly one in my street). Checked the grid and see there was power sent to the grid when the grid came back online (i dont feed back in) any reason or things to check? checked the error log and shows an F18, quick search doesnt really give me much feedback1676389797992.png
