All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Can we not fix it ourselves? If its just a matter of changing the pins or something simple.
It is probably not something that you should mess around with. It is best left to an expert.

Make sure the CT coil is installed on the incoming line from Eskom right at the db board. Not at the inverter but at the db board. Die correct linking up of the CT's wiring is described in the installation manual. Once it is installed it will show on the System Flow Chart screen.

OK what about non Essentials? We only have the geyser on non essential, but it does not show up at all on the inverter screen. Is that normal? The only time when we see a draw for non essentials is when we are exporting power
 
but is this now like confirmed cause both do the work ....just the big boy might break after a year
They sell that stuff at the big China shop in Tygervalley as well. Are willing to install that on your electrical network in your home? If you are u are much braver than I am.

In the pics below I changed the relevant times lot from 100% to 80% just to demonstrate that this happens, which is obviously not what we want. It needs to discharge over night until it can charge during the day again, and only after fully charged must it export excess to the grid
I was trying to see if you could get it to export SOLAR power, not battery power. Because you changed it from 100% to 80%, it will discharge the battery until 80%.

Once the CT is set up correctly, you will see the non-essrntials.

You will see the non-essential load as a house on the flow diagram if you tick zero export. You will also see the CT coil.
 
Once the CT is set up correctly, you will see the non-essrntials.

In the same vein, what would you guys consider to be the most risky scenario settings wise on these inverters. What combinations of settings would you regard as potentially inverter damaging / fire risk / other? Not referring to bad installs, but risky config...
i.e. if I was feeling uncharitable and had physical access to your inverter, what could I do from the control panel to really make your life miserable?
e.g. a delinquent tenant or overnight guest.

I must admit, I'm a little surprised these inverters don't have any form of authentication built in to the interface.
There is a lockout setting on the sunsynk. I haven't used it but it's there. 20230303_171000.jpg

I just want to point out that in this picture it shows non essential loads (by the house icon) , but this is NOT non essential loads, this is actually ehat its exporting, confirmed by me as I could see the meter spinning and we had virtually nothing on at that time.

It does export solar, if the battery is at the designated SOC level. It also allocates it as export power, not non essentials. The problem with unticking zero export is that it drains the battery at night to charge the grid

Bingo!

If what you are telling me is true, the installer has installed your CT coil somewhere between your municipal meter and the substation.

@Fingerlessliz please get your installer back, if only just to kick his ass (and give him another from me too please).

If you still trust him, ask him to install the CT coil between the meter and the load, like so:

I am almost scared to ask, but I will because it's very important: Does your earth leakage work when you have load shedding?

I was the forum member assisting her on WhatsApp but I think the installer is at fault not knowing the correct placement of the CT coil and its exact purpose in the configuration and settings.

I got her to get them in to move it as it was initially installed next to the inverter.

It could be time for her to cut losses and get a competent installer out.
