All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Very glad I went with the 8kw inverter, I have the entire house connected up and only thing I need to tweak is the geyser, it’s a solar geyser with its own timer so I’ll just make sure it will make use of as much sun as possible.

Definitely worth going with the 8kw. Now you can look at the eskomsepush app with smug curiosity instead of despair.

Thanks! The panels and install was R92381, I purchased the batteries and inverter separately for R71990 and R41664 respectively. So all in around R206k.

Similar ballpark to mine, good for comparison.
Thanks for sharing.

So this morning the husband opened up the inverter and DB. Turns out the CT coil wasn't connected to the right pins (3&4 instead of 5&6). He changed it and viola, everything is WORKING for the first time since we got the system 6 weeks ago. Non essentials (geyser) gets picked up, export is detected as export and not non essentials. Hopefully this is the end of our trouble. I mean wow, I vetted this company for months before we went ahead, and I still clearly made the wrong choice. Thanks again to all the awesome people on here that have helped:

Good spot
To be honest, I don't know. Everything is still as set by the installers, but reading through that thread I can't really see why I'd need it. I guess I might as well disable it. Thanks for pointing it out, @Speedster !

I thought CT wasn’t supposed to be a negative

When you export it is obviously a negative because power is flowing out and not in
If it is put the wrong way around then it also shows a negative but you can pick this up by looking at the LD which in that case will be a positive.
Its complicated, I know.

Ah, there it is. Went looking for it under Battery Setting...

I only have this once battery at the moment, but not quite sure where to find the dipswitch to confirm the settings?
OK, so your battery's BMS is the problem, can you see that it is only allowing discharge of 10A? At 48V that is 480W, which concurs with your experience.

Try to check the DIP switch settings, from the manual (attached) it is C:

Anyone start receiving grid return messages?
Received my first one today so wondering if it's a new feature they rolled out.

I've had my Mains off to drain the batteries a bit more without fiddling with System Mode since early this morning. Will put Mains back on and see if I get this notification.

EDIT: New notification is working on my side as well.

Got it - thanks. I found the dip switch! And it seems fine?

Thanks for your patience in walking me through this - I have a lot to learn.

Theoretically, yes - but it is switched off at the DB (using a gas geyser). I saw the 150W and 420W on the app, looking at the timestamp of the outage. Not sure if that is an accurate way of doing it? But for reference we only have short peaks at ~3.2kW for very short times and never go higher than that.

I would imagine the app is delayed and won’t record what tripped it but I have a Sunsynk and not a Deye so results may vary.

I have a problem with my Sunsynk data logger reporting only very sporadically over the last three weeks or so. Even when I can see the device on the network, I usually don't get any information from the app or the website. It will report a couple of times a day without any kind of intervention, but then it just seems to go offline for no reason. I thought it might be the Sunsynk servers but this has been going on way too long.

I thought I'd go through the setup process again but I don't see the "EAP-XXXX" connection when I do a wifi search. Any bright ideas from anyone on what might be wrong and what I can do to fix it?
