Very glad I went with the 8kw inverter, I have the entire house connected up and only thing I need to tweak is the geyser, it’s a solar geyser with its own timer so I’ll just make sure it will make use of as much sun as possible.
Thanks! The panels and install was R92381, I purchased the batteries and inverter separately for R71990 and R41664 respectively. So all in around R206k.

To be honest, I don't know. Everything is still as set by the installers, but reading through that thread I can't really see why I'd need it. I guess I might as well disable it. Thanks for pointing it out, @Speedster !Good spot

Deye / Sunsynk / etc ... Activate battery ?
Any insight on the purpose of that option ? Supposed to be used when installing a new lifepo4 battery ... But for how long ? 1, 10 or 100 cycles ? What does it do precisely ? Haven't noticed any difference in current limitation for charging & discharging when option is ticked or not ...powerforum.co.za
Ah, there it is. Went looking for it under Battery Setting...Also, if you have a single battery, confirm dipswitch settings are 00000010:

So this morning the husband opened up the inverter and DB. Turns out the CT coil wasn't connected to the right pins (3&4 instead of 5&6). He changed it and viola, everything is WORKING for the first time since we got the system 6 weeks ago. Non essentials (geyser) gets picked up, export is detected as export and not non essentials. Hopefully this is the end of our trouble. I mean wow, I vetted this company for months before we went ahead, and I still clearly made the wrong choice. Thanks again to all the awesome people on here that have helped:

When you export it is obviously a negative because power is flowing out and not inI thought CT wasn’t supposed to be a negative
OK, so your battery's BMS is the problem, can you see that it is only allowing discharge of 10A? At 48V that is 480W, which concurs with your experience.Ah, there it is. Went looking for it under Battery Setting...

I only have this once battery at the moment, but not quite sure where to find the dipswitch to confirm the settings?

Jip I also started receiving such messages this morning.Anyone start receiving grid return messages?
Received my first one today so wondering if it's a new feature they rolled out.

I've had my Mains off to drain the batteries a bit more without fiddling with System Mode since early this morning. Will put Mains back on and see if I get this notification.Anyone start receiving grid return messages?

Not meGot it - thanks. I found the dip switch! And it seems fine?OK, so your battery's BMS is the problem, can you see that it is only allowing discharge of 10A? At 48V that is 480W, which concurs with your experience.
Try to check the DIP switch settings, from the manual (attached) it is C:

OK, so next step is to determine why the BMS is limiting you to 10A. Your dealer / installer may have more info on this.Got it - thanks. I found the dip switch! And it seems fine?

Thanks for your patience in walking me through this - I have a lot to learn.

Thanks - guess I just wanted to pin it on the panels since it was the only thing that changed. Here is all the battery related stats I know how to access:

Theoretically, yes - but it is switched off at the DB (using a gas geyser). I saw the 150W and 420W on the app, looking at the timestamp of the outage. Not sure if that is an accurate way of doing it? But for reference we only have short peaks at ~3.2kW for very short times and never go higher than that.
