All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Opened up the front panel, the frame was riddled with ants - all dead already - but fortunately none in the inverter.

Quite lucky I home gym in the garage early mornings - I can just imagine the **** show if they'd gotten into the inverter itself.

I can see quite a bit of bodies in the back where the heat sync is - but - nothing inside where there are electronics - even up behind the screen section.

I think the weather seals saved me.

Damn, that's annoying. I also had some issues with lizzards wanting to come and sit on the inverter for the warmth! Glad the ants didn't get in and cause any problems for your inverter.
 
Ants can get in anywhere. They managed to bring my gate motor to a complete halt. I now treat it every 3 months. We have a big ant problem in the neighbourhood.

Our area is relatively stable with outages (touches wood) But on the odd occassion a transformer issue etc does occur. The battery does well and holds it weight, my issue is mainly with regards to adding solar to the mix. This will result in much further depletes than it currently does. I think I've seen it at 70% at its lowest because of the grid charge.

It will grid charge less with solar and deplete much further. But as mentioned by Ron, if no issue. Then no problem.

OK, so then it is possible they have done similar tweaks to the BMS that Hubble did to the S-100 / S-120. Depending on what these are, you could still possibly use it in a daily cycle application. Reach out to Bluenova tech support and ask them about it.

Yip - this is the printer my wife uses daily - this was in Jan and what prompted our pest control efforts. (they had to come out four times).

It just amazes me how they move in mass, one day there's nothing - and the next day the entire colony has moved.

shew, happened to all my electronics in my pool pump enclosure. Also have a monthly routine now to spray all these areas with dyant / or Morten something ... so far so good two years later. Now will spray some around the inverter and batteries too. New checklist item added. Thx @xrapidx for sharing.

Sprayed and cleaned everything as best I could - but going to have to add to my weekly schedule to be safe.

Fortunately - I'm in the garage often - so they couldn't have been there for longer than 12 hours.

Bayer Maxforce. I do it every 3 months, they seem to come out whenever the season changes.

Sprays do nothing, they'll just keep coming back. You need to kill the nest...

Where do you put it though - these guys seem to have come from the roof (no ceiling) - which is weird. We also had our house treated and haven't seen an ant in a month or two.

I'm gonna try just about every product. Aslo been told to put a line of brake fluid around the inverter by finger...

Can't spend this sort of money and have it taken away by ants

I just sprinkle it around the perimeter of the house (the house itself, not the boundary walls). They make a bee line for it, something about the smell that attracts them. When there's a change of season and I see a few of them, I do it again.

Haven't seen an ant since last month, will probably have to do it again in August. Our area is notorious with these critters...
 
I use a combination of traps and the liquid that mix with water and spray around the property. A bit too concerned about the dog licking up anything I sprinkle or "chalk". Have to wait for the rains to pass however.

Yeah, poison is not the ideal solution. Same where we are with the geckos.
 
There is a ant thread on mybb somewhere with lot of tips which seems to differ on the region. I also use the ant granules I buy different brands each time but they all seem to work.

We have a huge problem in our area so once I start seeing a decent number of them I spread the whole container around my house walls outdoors and boundary walls as well as down the street and servitude. Keeps me ant free for a while.

I think its a balance of both.

I contacted support and Ron was right, it is different cell config in the batteries. However, it is a common misconception that they are used for backup only rather than hybrid.

So all good on that front, will just buy an additional battery when funds allow.
 
After not giving single issue for 11 months, my solarman dongle has disconnected from the wifi twice in the last 30 mins. Unplugging it and putting it back in solves the issue, only for it to disconnect a couple of minutes later again. Anybody ever had that happen before?

anything change in your wifi setup? new APs?
