All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Just a little update.

I ended up going for the Dyness over the above two batteries. They are rated 0.5C but figured, I am buying more than 1 battery so doesn't really impact my 5kw inverter from my understanding.

Sunsynk was too expensive and Volta had spacing issues for the installer.

What did you pay for batteries if I may ask?
 
FML, another R3600... Isn't there something cheaper...this dam system is like a money pit.. I was thinking of getting solar assistant too but not sure it's worth another R2800

No I don't, I see the pi online itself is expensive. I hope to be a very light user, so I thought solarman would be fine. But it would be great to be able to change settings on the app...

Solarman will allow you to change settings. You just need that feature enabled. Any sunsynk installer should be able to assist in getting you that access via their Sunsynk support channel.
 
Much easier to be able to do it from your lay-z-boy hehehe
One on the joys in my life is to stand in front the inverter with a whisky\beer in my hand and pressing the screen to see what the hardest worker in my household did for the day. I press the settings button and get the satisfaction that I have helped in all of this.

With Victron you're going to pay.

I just rang up Solar Advice to come do it, came to like R2,800 fully installed including cables. I bought my system from them though, so not sure if they'll stock cables for your battery but you can try.

Keep in mind you'll need new cables - the cable length needs to be the same for each battery irrespective of how far they are from the busbar...

Ok, so logger is working and the battery cable was extended to opposite ends.

So I'm currently debating this with my installer. My system can only receive 40amps right, or rather that's what it's set to. It's set to that because apparently they fitted 40amp breakers on the 3 phase system.

The issue I have is that it's limiting the solar output. I have 12x 545w Canadian. At this time, when I increase the load, it can go up to 4.5kw of power generated. But it's throttling due to the 40amps. Any thoughts?

Your installer doesn't sound like he knows what he is doing.
That 40a is related to DC amps ie 40a x50v = 2000w you are seeing your battery charge at on the pic you sent.

It has nothing to do with 3phase breakers.
The charging from grid is set on another screen and is also set at 50v, not 230v.
 
I am considering adding a 3rd Hubble AM-2 to my system.

My current 2 are with serial number starting HLxxxxx and were installed in February this year.

The AM-2's available have serial numbers starting with HLDxxxxx

My installer said he will have to do a software upgrade on the 2x HL's to get them happy with the 3rd, HLD.

My questions:

1) Should I expect any issues with adding this 3rd Hubble?
2) Has anyone bought from Centurion Solar up in Centurion? They look solid based on Facebook, Hello Peter and Google Reviews and I spoke to them on the phone and all seemed good, but being in East London, I will struggle to fight if I don't get my battery.

(2nd thread I am posting this in, just looking for quick feedback if possible)

You should be able to push DC amps up to whatever the cable/fuse is rated at (whichever is lower).

Just keep in mind the size of your bank and C rating of your batteries. If they're 0.5C batteries then don't set charge/discharge amps higher than 150A for your 300Ah bank. Start off with 100A and see what happens...

So why on earth would they set it at 40amps?

That 40a is only for charging the battery from solar sources.
You can set that value according to your battery fuse size and cable thickness.
150a is 7500w at 50v.

For charging from grid, you can go to the next battery screen below the one you posted. There will be grid and generator listed. You set the amps based on dc charge, not ac, usually also 40a as standard. You can adjust that one up as well.
