All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

I currently share a roof with the apartment above me. While I already have an inverter and batteries, I don't have solar panels. My neighbor is planning to install 8 solar panels on our roof. Should I wait until I've saved up enough for my own solar panels, or do you think it would make any financial sense for me to ask if he can add a few panels that I would be willing to pay for, that would then go to my inverter? Additionally, he will also be getting a Sunsynk inverter.

If it does make sense to combine installations, would I need to get an equal number of panels, as I'm interested in having 6 for myself? I'd appreciate any other tips or advice in this regard.

What is the difference? Either way you are still paying for solar panels, cabling, dc protection, etc, etc?

The sooner you get panels, the sooner the system starts to pay for itself.

Just confirming I increase the capacity to 400ah, increase charge to 120amps but leave discharge at 160 amps??

Well it depends, what cable and busbars are you using to connect batteries to your inverter?
 
Battery to breaker 14cm
Breaker to busbar 60cm
Busbar to main breaker 60cm
Main breaker to inverter 90cm

Here's the recommended current vs cable sizes from the Victron Wiring Unlimited doc:

50mm2 is good for 160a over 2.3m i'd say based on that. Note how it drops off per 5m extra.

Any fundis in here who can tell us how charge/discharge works? Is it that the battery is either discharging or recharging at any point in time?
 
Yep. If I get a 3rd battery I will need to upgrade to 75 from busbar to breaker and then inverter.

That's a nice setup. I'm keen to know how the Revov's perform. My neighbour as the same two as you have. I have 2x 10/8 Freedom Wons and when it's time to replace them, I'll certainly look at the Revovs at their price.

I can only think of a saving on perhaps a call out fee... or perhaps the installer charges a day rate and they have enough time to put up your panels as well.
But I have my doubts.

Not personally, but I have seen their adds on the web & on Facebook since I've started reading up and doing my own solar research (at least 18 months). If they're not legit, they are playing a very long game, but, as always, buyer beware.
 
Is anyone else’s sunsynk wifi data relay down? The dongle is green but the app isn’t updating

Only thing I can thing of where you would save costs is if you make use of hits rails if you plan on mounting them all together. All the rest will be for your costs anyway. Maybe if you use the same installer/supplier you could share the callout fee and labor etc.
