All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Thanks so we do not have non-essentials, currently we are two places on one property with one meter and we use the export option to feed excess solar to the other house.

In this case would you suggest it be connected correctly?

My suggestions were assuming you weren't exporting.
I would say you should rather have your ct connected properly.

What happens if the other unit doesn't draw electricity, does your solar get exported beyond your meter?

If you arent wanting to export beyond your meter then in theory that other house would be your non essentials and you should measure the ct correctly.
Also should have the correct settings on inverter so the house displays and picks up on their usage so only the correct amount of electricity is exported.

Interesting, I would say that it seems like more solar is exported than what the other house actually consumes but the solar that is exported does not run the main meter up as such

We have our own meter that measures our eskom usage next to the inverter and then compare that with the main meter to work out what the other house consumes

What I can say though is since I have enabled the export of excess solar their usage has dropped between 2-3kw a day

I have asked the installer the questions and just waiting for them to get back to me about that, I see the system mode setting is set as zero-export + limit to load only which then pushes out all excess solar.

When I change it to limited to home on the app (untick limit to load only on the inverter) the house and the ct coil displays on the flow chart.

Hi everyone - if I have the choice between two pvgreencard installers, one in town but only does Deye inverter/batteries, and the other one not in town but services the entire country and does Sunsynk inverter/batteries - which would be the better choice? I know Deye and Sunsynk are very similar, but are there any reasons to prefer the one above the other in this case?
If I understand it correctly I'd be getting 10 year warranties in either case?

I can't speak for the batteries but the inverters are the same, made by deye, with slightly different firmware on them. I think you may be better off with the local guy as he will be able to assist more easily if you need support. Someone who services throughout the country will be hard to get to "little old" you.

Evaluate the installers based on their reputation. Ask for contactable referees, then ask the referees if they are willing to allow you to visit the site, to see what their work looks like for yourself. Also, ask them for sites in progress which you can visit, to verify exactly how they are working. The latter is first prize, you get to see more about the company and its people when they are actually busy on the job.

Thanks for all your help @Fcon_Vpro I have got the installer to come have a look today to check the CT so we can see what is going wrong and then help with the correct settings with getting power to the second house on the property.
 
When I opened the sunsynk app this morning, it requested permissions to send notifications. So I think the latest app update has notifications restored. Waiting for next ac drop to know for sure

Yes, the latest Android SS App finally fixes the grid notifications.
 
Disconnect working but still no reconnect? On Android.
Though HA notifications work like a charm.

Sunsynk app currently not updating correctly since around 17:30. Assuming linked to the migration email, though I am already on Region 2.

It takes some scratching around but worth it imo.
There's a local YouTube channel, Solar Integrations. A good place to start, then it's just browsing forums and down the rabbit hole
I use an old Windows laptop, that can run a Virtual Machine, most prefer raspberry Pi's.
The HA website has all the instructions you need to get started.

Just thought about it, do you perhaps have one for the 1 hour notification as well? (i.e. 1 hour until LoadShedding like ESP)
