All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

For those still looking, prices have come down even further..
Have a friend that paid R120k for 8kw Deye, 10kwh Volta, and 12x 550w panels. Installed.
Installer was his friend, so say R125k still possible. Even without LS it's a good time to take the plunge.

Anyone had their solarman dongle not update the portal (i.e shows offline). Dongle is connected to wifi with internet on 2.4ghz as I'm getting data from it in HA, it's just not sending or showing connected online.

Always amazed how the sunsynk performs.

Charging the battery at over 9kw yesterday. Any info on the max solar to battery charge rate is. Don't recall seeing the max DC to DC charge rate in the manual. Screenshot_20231122_133247_Chrome.jpg

Need some advise please

Since last week Friday I don't get any more than 3800w from panels

10 x 550 panels
2 x B100 revov 5kva
1 x 8kw sunsynk

Use to easily see between 4 and 4.6 between 11am and 1 pm in middle of day

Below some settings

Also where does charge limits come from on 2nd screen? 160 for each field

Those current limits on the second photo are from the batterie's own BMS, it won't allow you to dis/charge beyond that but if you've set lower limits on the Sunsynk the inverter values will still take precedence.

Are you just seeing lower PV output when charging or is it with any load?

My installer is advertising what I paid R146k for in August for R125k. Only difference is 8panels.

I worked out today that my battery, inverter and panels are all together R32k cheaper today than they were a year ago.
But hard to get upset when I've had power for a year during the rough seas of stage 6 loadshedding

Ditto. Even if I knew it would be R20k cheaper in four months. I would have done it then. Our quality of being is just so much beter.

Thanks for clearing that up @DrJohnZoidberg

With load + charging

And with load exceeding panel capacity and drawing from battery

Any settings to look for?

I was home today, nit a cloud in sky but less production, can the heat have an effect?

The hotter the panel the less effective it is if I recall correctly. So maybe the heatwave is reducing the output?

Yes, higher the temps the less effecient the panels will be but not to the degree you're seeing.

Do you have 2 strings in your setup? If so are you seeing similar output on them or is one generating less than the other?

Shade perhaps, from a chimney or the like ?

Shade on just one cell on one panel can have a large impact.

With the season changing an obstacle that did not have an impact in winter or early spring might be a problem now.

Same items (SS 8kw + SS 10kwh + 8x550w panels) would've cost R20k less now, installed about 4months ago. Faster than expected but not really fussed - just trying to convince everyone I know to install now coz it really makes sense, hah.

Non-SS items have come down even faster, here total wud be like R40k less than SS 4months ago (or R30k like for like.. ish).

Any chance pylontech will drop? Currently best price I found was R25 300 for the UP5000. It hasn't dropped much since I added the last one in July. First UP5000 I bought it was under R20k.

Need one more to make my battery bank complete.

Total spend since installation.

Total production and how much I would've had to spend at coct based on tariffs at the time of production.
