Anyone back at 1 minute refresh intervals recently? Or after today's dropped ball?

Or is 5 minutes the "new normal"?

My installer said max 16

I've got 10 and wanted to added 10

But can only do another 6 it seems

The max is 16 if you install it in series, you can add more if you do a combination of series and parallel but you might run into current clipping on nice sunny days

There is no theoretical limit on the number of panels as long as you manage to stay within the acceptable open circuit voltage (Voc) of the inverter.

As per the SunSynk website :-
  • Solar Input
    Max power input – 10400W
    Max V DC input – 370V (100V~500V)
    Max current input – 26A+26A
    MPPTs – 2
    MPPT Range – 125~425V

So each MPPT can take a max of 425V.

I have 19 panels on my roof connected to my 8kva SunSynk - 12x 380W on one MPPT and 7x 454W on the other MPPT. So technically my max should be around 7700W, however at peak noon during summer on a perfectly sunny day I get max around 6000W with MPPT 1 pushing 263V and MPPT 2 pushing 273V and my 3x 5.4k batteries usually reach 99% at around 10:30am. So I believe (correct me if I am wrong) technically I could add more panels to my roof to each MPPT, however I don't have much space left on my roof to add more panels.

Unfortunately during winter time, it's a different story, and my panels only reach a max of around 2800W causing me to rely on Eskom most days (middle of May to beginning of August). Either I will have to shift orientation of some of the panels to make more space on my roof to add more panels, or swap out the older 12x 380W panels for high spec panels to make through winter comfortably without the need for Eskom at all. I'll speak to my solar guy before next winter hits to see what can be done improve my winter times.
