allyoucaneat.com do offer full beaver burgers where as allyoucaneat.co.za cant even offer fully uncapped services.
 
Thing is, if they offered 30 gig cap on 1 account to begin with, then yea. Cool... but all these lies are making me puke.

Telkom keeps using this excuse, yet it is provably a lie. Our "first economy" alone is more than large enough to support a first world class bandwidth infrastructure at reasonable prices. The proof of this? Telkom's massive profits. 100% of that that money is part of the excess wealth drained out of our 'first economy', and is more than enough to pay for all the infrastructure required to supply broadband at reasonable prices AND still have profits left over AND keep making a profit from the investment from all the new customers. It cannot be argued that the third-world "portion" of South Africa detracts in any non-negligible way from Telkom's ability to provide services to the first world "portion" of SA, because Telkom is not a socialist entity at all - the excess profits stay with Telkom; the poverty in SA is not a burden on Telkom.
 
The fact is, South-Africa have a high poverty rate, but all the ching telkom is making comes from those average to higher class and that just shows from less than half of the south-africans they coining it bigtime.

Dropping costs for them would mean more people within the lesser income base will jump online which would equal higher usercount and more work for Telkom.

Telkom has a plain strategy, Small user base as high prices = effectively the same as high userbase with low cost.

they made a slight mistake and unlimited could mean like p2p and everything you can download doesnt mean unlimited bandwidth u whinning little idiots.
i signed up with them last week and i have download so much lol so you guys stay paying between 250-329 for your 3 gig i will pay 480 for my 30 gig did you hear that 30 gigs as opposed to 3 lol your principals wont aloow to you to sign with them cause your all so stupid. so next month when im pay 480 for my 30 gig downloading and playing bf in full res and you guys are having to mind what you download im gonna laugh so bad

killadoob - 30gigs and you have no connection, us on 3gig will still be able to go up to 140gig for the month locally that is.

The point here, its not a typo they made or any of that bull****. Its a marketing scam and it didnt work aswell as they thought. One phonecall and they busted themself.

Just to finalise, Id much rather signup for R730 / month with a uunet account that doesnt have a cap and is very well shaped for international gaming. They also fixed their bandwidth issues and it shows since there is no more complaints going around. Guess what, another bonus this is month to month, no sleezy 12month.

Disinformation.

If the price is increase by more than 10% p/a then the subscriber may exit the contract. The throttle only applies after 30GB per month. This is laid out in the Terms.
 
imagine this. last month i bought a bmw 330i. this month i discovered that it was delivered with a 318i engine. its not what i bought. do you think that bmw would get away with this? what makes allyoucaneat think that they can?

as for the price increase limit of 10% - that is double inflation.... And given that bandwidth costs are deflationary....

oh and please dont comment on disinformation. i think i would have the support of the majority of this forum in stating that the marketers of allyoucaneat appear to have written the book on this subject...

I remember very well the word "UNCAPPED" 30GB is NOT uncapped....
 
celemasiko, never said All You Can Eat is "uncap". uncapped != unlimited.

30GB is part of the new Terms. If you were not previously subscribed to All You Can Eat the change would not concern you. If you were to signup now, you would have to agree with the new Terms.

Signuped subscribers were giving a choice to continue with the new Terms or to exit the contract and get a full refund. This was allowed for in the old Terms.

So why was it removed in the new terms? If Telkom reduce the 30Gb cap to say 15Gb tomorrow, current subscribers will not have the option to cancel this time round?
 
Yes I believe the 30gig is, since it was the deal from the start but never mentioned.
