Maybe stop putting yourself in a box then. You're in a part of the country that's full of incredible sights to see and there's very accessible hiking groups on meetup etc. A few hours walking sounds like it'll do you good anyway. I've found those hiking groups to be one of the easiest, low-pressure environments to be in. If you're not lus for talking you can just keep to yourself if you really want to.Im not the athletic type. Just feel so far removed from family friends
Go chill in a coffee shop with a book. Sometimes helps to just be around other people.
Get some hobbies going.
Look for events that interest you - markets, live music etc.
