Alonso quits McLaren

Alonso had complained that as a two-time world champion he deserved preferential treatment, and accused McLaren of favouring the 22-year-old rookie Hamilton. Dennis and Alonso didn't talk to each other for a period.

Agh no man!!!

I'm no fan of Alonso, but put yourself in his shoes, he's got a point. Hamilton's good but nowhere near as good as most think he is. McLaren has been training his since he was about 12, it's obvious they're going to favour him, and if you were the curent two times champ it would tick you off too.

Edit,, Far more interesting details over at http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_2843085,00.html

yup im with you on this

hamilton must learn RESPECT, he almost learn to earn RESPECT

i hope alonso goes to red bull, then you will see why is so such a good driver
i also hope mclaren dont have a good car next year and we will see hamilton either show us he is great or become a ralf shumacher

mmm... I'm split on this one... I reckon Lewis has been a revelation in the sport, he has shown immense talent and maturity coming in and being as competitive as he has. Sure he's got a great car under him but to be as accurate and skillfull as he has the entire season just about, hell, he's earned my respect and the fact that Alonso has reacted to him in the fashion that he has is a testimont to his talent. I mean if your own teamate feels so threatened then imagine the anxiety in the other camps... I say all the strength to Lewis, I hope he goes on to be one of the greatest of all time, he certainly has the talent to be...

These brats make millions of $$$, I don`t feel sorry for them.
They should stop whining and drive the damn car.
That`s what they`re paid for.

I feel a bit sorry for Ron (who also makes $$$) he should be allowed to spank them.

If I could spend millions of pounds training a money for a decade giving it nothing but the best equipment to use it to would be impressive. Some who's been trained like that from before puberty and given nothing but the best equipment and doing well is nothing close to a "revelation", come on.

Hamilton hasn't done that well, his car has, compare how many times his car has lost him points against Kimi for example, if he was in an average car he would do average at best. Alonso had a tough season because of the environment he was in, and to still be, what 1 point, behind the winner says alot more about him than it does Hamilton.
