That's a **** one, sorry to hear! It's no secret that ACT has had some hick ups, but then show me an exchange that hasn't... Luckily for me I have personally not had any issues with ACT.

Anyone here use Blockfolio? I've just discovered you can add btc/zar pair, follows Luno's price accurately, and you can toggle between zar and $ price with the graph in zar*:)

K... but keep in mind I only file my tax return once every two to three years.... I am too busy and have too much going on to file it every year. Haven't filed my return in two years and I think I will file one soonish. THe one I have to file now if till like end Feb 2017 or something...once that one is done, I will have to do one that includes some crypto profits...

Lol you see that dude on youtube who's predicting a $38 ETN by June? People be crazy. But yeah another listing is great news, coupled with a hopefully soon official announcement of partnerships going ahead with ETN implementation into their mobile platforms.

Basically, if your INTENT was speculation - pay tax at your income tax rate. If you bought and kept then sold later, then you might be able to get away with Capital Gains Tax.

I can see a lot of people will rather hide their gains than declare it at their normal income tax rate. SARS needs to come to the party and tax crypto gains at a much lower rate. Then people will gladly declare and pay their taxes on crypto gains. If they make it high, people will try and get away without paying tax. SARS will get more tax if the crypto gains tax is low, than trying to fleece traders with a high rate. If only our government could grow a few brain cells!!!
 
What if for instance you want to buy a house from someone but you ask them to open a bitcoin wallet and you pay with your coins? The government wont know...
 
What if you never cash out. And only use btc for payments online etc
