Alternative Cryptocurrencies (General Discussion & Trading)

Bought another 200 XRP this morning. Slightly above market price, but I'm in it for the long game with Ripple. I have high hopes for this coin.

I was hoping to get away with a link from AppData\Roaming to the mounted filesystem. A soft link (mklink /D) will create the link and show the files, but Jaxx itself does not recognize it. A junction is not allowed as it requires a 'local volume' (whatever that means) and trying to create a hard link fails across drives (i.e. volumes, as expected).

Why not just fire up a small VM that you can leave off when not being used?

I looked into it, and was dual mining it for awhile, but it hit my Ethereum mining speed too much so I stopped.

It's an interesting project, but userland distributed cloud storage systems never work. Maybe they'll be different, but I'm sceptical.

Doesn't mean there isn't money to be made on the coin, though. I am a little sad I didn't buy at 400 satoshis.
 
You can't mine Ripple. Best bet to get it via an exchange (eg Poloniex), or buy directly from someone holding, which is what I'm doing. I have a Ripple guy ;)

Meh, no particular reason. Bought from him before I even knew about Poloniex, seems right, not burning bridges and all that, and he usually throws in a little bonus now and then which makes up for the times he shafts me on price.

It's because when you send an ether to an ICO company, they may require your product key. So if you send from an exchange, you won't be able to since the exchange has your product key.

They also often state an amount of gas to send - cannot do it with Jaxx or exodus.

Anyone currently holding Eth and crying?

I traded all of mine a week back for btc to invest elsewhere. Scared to move the btc now. Markets are looking scary... Maybe it's a good time to increase my SIA holdings :?

I traded my ethereum for bitcoin a while back and kept hoping it would drop again. I had a buy order for quite a while. So on my side I'm glad it finally dropped a bit. Now it will hopefully rise again.
