Alternative Cryptocurrencies (General Discussion & Trading)

Transfer ANS from Bittrex to antshares wallet, bittrex is stealing ANC for the period it is on bittrex

Only send whole numbers of ANS to your wallet from the exchange, fractions are cut off. Bittrex charges 1 ANS regardless how many you transfer to your wallet.

After receiving in wallet, your anc starts coming in, but you have to claim it periodically to show in the 'account' tab, it builds up under the 'asset' tab but remains unusable until you claim it.

To claim, strangely you have to send (some of ) your own ANS to your own address again using the wallet before the claim button becomes active, sending 1 ANS of your shares is sufficient for this purpose.

Wtf go on here. This noobs head is struggling.

If you want to earn antcoins (ANC) dividends of your ANS shares, yes. If you want to hodl and trade the ANS shares in the near future, (perhaps) no. If you bought on bittrex and it is still there then bittrex is earning your antcoin dividends in the meanwhile and can not be claimed later.

The wallet can be downloaded Here

Extract it but don't run it yet. The block chain can be downloaded separately to bypass most of the synchronisation.

Download blockchain Here

Extract the blockchain to where you exracted your wallet 'AntSharesCore'. Then run the wallet and let the blockchain load.

Post again here if you decide to and have done this then I will explain the rest.

EDIT: Also bear in mind that you will lose 1 ANS when you transfer to your wallet. I bought 5 ANS so lost 20% of my ANS to end up with 4 ANS in my wallet. I chose this because I'm in for the long run (receiving ANC as well as hoping the ANS itself will gain significant value).

Sorry for last post if you actually did download the wallet, not clear if you mean you have earlier obtained ANS in a wallet on the exchange or if you downloaded the software wallet on your pc...

Meant I literally just bought it.

It was 1 ANS previously.
Important: Please keep in mind that shares you send to your wallet are indivisible. That means, if you have 96 ANS in your Bittrex account, it's best to withdraw just 95.2 ANS and keep the rest on Bittrex. If you try to withdraw 96 ANS, you will lose 0.8 ANS.
EDIT: It appears that Bittrex changed the fee again, now to 0.5 ANS. Not cool, Bittrex, not cool at all

The value of one antcoin (ANC) is apparently $0.5 currently.

One antshare ANS (that generates your ANC) is about $8.32 currently.

Do you have ripple? Where is the best way to buy and store ripple?

You can buy Ripple through a few exchanges, Poloniex probably the easiest one. Gatehub will also work fine. Or shop around online and buy directly from someone holding who will be willing to sell, although, you are likely to pay more than you would on an exchange.

Personally, I haven't decided where I'll be hedging my bets between Sia and Ripple. They are positioned very differently, sure, but yeah, trying to figure out which horse between those two to back. I like that Sia is possible (and still relatively easy) to mine, which makes it a little easier to get involved in. Though on the flip side, this is the one thing that is giving me a little more faith in Ripple... the fact that there is a little more stringent control over it and less accessible.

I don't know.

How's your Chinese ?

https://www.19800.com/market/cny_anc

Currently ANC is 9 Chinese Yuan = $1.33 according to google.

Which means I am earning about R0.03 per day for having 4 ANS

ANC Price, roughly from chart in link above:

04/5/17 : 0.619 Yuan
16/6/17 : 1.5 Yuan
21/6/17 : 6.37 Yuan
28/6/17 : 6.59 Yuan
29/6/17 : 7.4 Yuan
30/6/17 : 8.38 Yuan
01/7/17 : 9+ Yuan

Ok this is going to sound stupid but how do I buy on poloniex? I registered but dont know where to go from there. Also, do I keep the ripple there or send it somewhere else?

Those using Antshares desktop wallet. Don't generate second address, there is some issue with ANC distribution between the addresses.

My funds are limited right now but I do have some ripple yes. Storing on the exchange at the moment, not ideal but I will move it once I find a suitable wallet.

I'm considering a Ledger Nano S for this, once (if) my XRP portfolio justifies the cost.

I have been trying to buy ripple on gatehub with my btc that I transfered there but have no idea to do it. I followed the tutorial but theres no option to buy with btc
