Alternative Cryptocurrencies (General Discussion & Trading)

Managed to get my first $$$ out of Luno into my FNB account. Wanted to test the process, and it's actually pretty straight forward. I will be keeping my BTC in my wallet and only transfer when I want to cash out instead of leaving funds in Luno, but yeah, pretty quick and easy.

Transferred $50- worth of BTC from Bitgo to Luno last night, and when all was said and done I had ~R682 in my account this morning. All in all not bad, but there are definitely some ways to optimize cost and getting most bang for buck.

Also, everything done from my phone using the Luno app, so pretty happy with that.

Edit: I just had a look on XE.com to get a quick and nasty compare of the exchange rate for $50 to ZAR, and even with all the transaction and account fees between Bitgo and Luno, I still got more out than what XE.com would have given me for $50.

I'm having hassles with getting the Eth Wallet to sync so I tried myetherwallet.com instead. I gave their Bity.com swap affiliate service a go and it was pretty painless. Rate was slightly less than current trading exchange, but it was convenient enough and I got to send straight to my bitcoin wallet. So didn't have to transfer out of the exchange bitcoin wallet into mine, so possibly saved some transaction fees.

Any advice on exchanges? I want to turn some ETH into BTC. It will probably be smallish amounts initially 0.5 or so ETH.

Friend suggested coinexchange.io, I see lots of mentions of poloniex.com and bittrex.com. I'm not too worried about turning either into ZAR at the moment, just looking for the most efficient and safe way to do it.

If you just want to change currencies once off here and there, it matters little which exchange you use, but if you want to do day trading, then poloniex is superior. Way more traffic than the others.

The notice on poloniex suggests you can send/withdraw eth, so I ended up registering on Bitfinex. Will give that a go when my next eth pay comes through.

Don't know why you'd want to send or withdraw eth, but yeah, there's that. Just convert to BTC.

See i mad a typo. Was can't send/receive . Withdraw isn't the issue but if I can't transfer in to trade to bitcoin then it's nog going to work.

Has anyone bought into the ATB ICO? It sounds interesting, any opinions?

No expert here: I've noticed that the average income per day on Nicehash for Dagger Hashimoto has dropped by $0.30 in 5 days. I put my 1050Ti to work on that a while back
