Apart from the pump&dump ****coins I see Ethereum is climbing nicely in a stable fashion. R16k now. I got in at R4.5k, but like a noob I converted most of my coins when BTC was climbing fast.

yeah i got in around 7k, but only a fraction of a coin.. something nevertheless

EDIT: I mean, just yesterday Google presented me with an article that Bitcoin surges because Ripple lost it's allure. I mean seriously. XRP was stable in the mid R30's, BTC was actually down from the previous day :rolleyes:

yeah i thought the same, i mean yeah they can pump when they wanna, but i doubt any person who has become a billionaire from it, wouldnt want it to disappear overnight.. right?
 
The way I see it is if you haven't invested large amounts then the risk of hodling is much lower than say if you're holding a full bitcoin and it drops 30% ... then again you shouldn't be selling then either because then you're screwing the pooch.

I'm thinking of leaving a couple of k in some alts and forgetting about them. Money I would've otherwise spent on crap - not rent money or anything serious.

I am getting a little antsy about bitcoin though, microsoft has just dropped it as a payment method due to its instability and ripple is a shady coin that's all over the place, run by even shadier people. That being said, BTC is the first and biggest - so anyone getting into crypto will be using it as the benchmark.

Would love to find a coin that has pedigree and stability with ACTUAL technical value.

All I know is trying to trade coins when you still have a full time job where you can't watch the markets and keep up with the news is probably going to burn you badly.

ok so i pulled my initial investment in XRP already.. thing is, the profit is looking so beautiful of the remaining.. i bought a couple hundred when it was at R3.80.. but i mean i dont wanna lose this pretty sum.. so considering taking some.. maybe 60% and leaving the rest to either disappear or touch the clouds

yeah BTC kinda driving me nuts too.. but im HODL'ing like a mofo!
