I realize there's a lack of new projects on my list but I've cut down on my trading the past few weeks and preferred instead to hold some things I got into earlier. Will probably start trading a bit more next year when I hit a few targets. SNT for example, just doing consistently well over the past few months...

How does that change anything?
Trading volume alone is a good enough reason to trade elsewhere as orders are more likely to get filled. Unless you just want to go in and pay the asking price then sure - go wherever.

What do you mean it doesn't change anything? I've already sent the ETH. I have got a fair amount of XRP, but I want more.

So I got onto a pretty awesome Discord group of Crypto guys (there are a crap ton of members) with a good flow of news and new coins in the market with in-depth understanding.

They seem to also do plenty group pumps and dumps of the price on certain coins at once, so it’s pretty good to follow along. Got them from checking out Mcafees twitter feed.

That’s when I move right along, I’m well clued up of these groups and tactics specially in the forex game but for someone like me just wanting another source of info it’s pretty decent.

It's also worth remembering that many projects are only just beginning to release actual products. The past few months, years even - have been tokens traded on an idea: Many of these projects raised money via ICO but have yet to show anything functional for it. The next year or two we should start seeing more actual products and use-cases for blockchain, rather than so many ideas in the sky. Looking forward to 2018, and if you're holding tokens that are beginning to see utility - keep on holding .

Really is crazy I agree, just good to pick here and there what’s going on but some of these names are really crazy but still sort of pick the trends on what’s going on, found it very interesting. Watched and read during the day and there is always someone posting a new tweet or news as it drops but just gets missed if one doesn’t constantly watch the group.

I used the mobile able to do it, I see yesterday they created new “invite channel” called more or something like that. Use that one, I’m still skeptical to what the group can do to a market but I see the next pump is in 1 Days time so I’ll be monitoring what coin they announce and then watch that during the pump to see if it’s worth partaking.

I’m now just using it for a source of information that a single pair of eyes would not always find or would go missing under the radar

Can almost guarantee there's a private core group that buys in many days before they announce to the main group what the next pump is. It's the same thing with most signals groups etc: Core group buys in at a low price, rest of the people get tipped off when that original group is already up 20-30%. Which is fine - you're still making money, buy you're also just a means for them to drive the price up so they can unload quicker.

Two other issues:

1.) It's a huge time drain listening to a few thousand people blabbering away,
2.) You don't learn much useful from these groups (trading, technical analysis etc.). The goal would be to buy in when that core group buys in or even before that - to spot opportunities that allow you to benefit from the masses driving the price up. With these pump / signals groups the noise:signal ration is just far too high and what you learn is almost nothing other than when to jump when someone says jump.

It is a nice way to get exposure to new projects.

That was just my experience of being in a few of these groups.

Agree. To think you're not the pawn in the chain is a bit naiive IMO. I think you'll be taking trailing indicators from the group. You'll see price action but you'll be trading on the wrong side of it IMO.

I joined that group last week. It's more of a pyramid scheme. The more you refer people the higher you get ranked. Then each rank gets notified of the pump at different times. So if you join now with no referrals. You will either be getting the tail end of the pump. Or you will end up selling at a loss. Hence the guy posting his referral on the forum

Yeah, I bought some SNT on the 27th Dec and got out on the 1st with a quick 70%.

I do like it, think it'll be a good hodl coin so I may get back in at some point.

Just been reading about it a bit, and think it has good potential in the next month or two.

I also sold 75% of the XRP for a nice 350% profit. Just left my original $ amount investment, and moved profits to $LEND.
