Alternative Cryptocurrencies (General Discussion & Trading)

My internet is really limited at work. ( I'm surprised I have access to my broadband)
What are the crypto currencies doing at the moment? And where are good places to buy. I have an account at luno, but want to start diverifying

Slight recovery from yesterdays lows, at the moment prices trending down again but still above yesterdays worst. Good time to buy now. Just buy BTC or ETH on Luno and move to Binance if you want other alts.

can you access either of these from work?

They will show you all the stats on all the coins.
If you go into a coin, there is a tab called "Markets" which will show you which Exchanges trade that particular coin or token.

Off the top of my head, good exchanges for Alts are:

- HitBTC
- Cryptopia
- OKex
- Binance

Hope this helps

Awesome thanks. Will try to get to the exchanges from home. don't trust common pc for passwords involving money. but it looks like https://coinmarketcap.com/ and https://www.livecoinwatch.com/ are open to me. thanks again.
have you used altcoin market?

Coinmarketcap and/or Livecoinwatch are your best friend for checking what the markets are doing... Check them daily.

Also, any exchange that you sign up to - ALWAYS make use of 2FA security. A simple password is not enough.

Is altcoin market an exchange? Haven't heard of it... I've used altcointrader (the South African Exchange) and that works ok...
If you meant do i trade altcoins, yes, I do have a few but not too many. Most of my portfolio is in BTC and ETH

Don't pick obscure platforms to trade on.
Use coinmarketcap to find something you're interested in, go to the Markets tab and pick an exchange with good volume.
(There's a quick tutorial on coinmarketcap in my sig)

Need exchange for lambo

When you buy BCC (Bitconnect) on Binance and see it go up over 300 percent on Coin market cap then check your crypto to see its gone down a couple precent. Figuring out that Binance has BCC code for BitcoinCash..... Bastards

Yes meant altcointrader. guy at work mentioned it. thought. I would have a look later.
I do use 2 factor authorisation but you can never be too careful

Are people honestly happy waiting 3 days for crypto deposits to reflect?? :wtf:

I've NEVER in my life waited that long... but to answer your question, no, I wouldn't be happy if I encountered that as the price change would be drastically different... To avoid this, I always keep a small amount in the ZAR wallet in case I need to buy on a drop

Not ZAR deposits, crypto... I waited until the transaction had about 8000 confirmations (this was ETH) before it was finally credited. Support took close to the max of 72 hours to get it done. Actually, I lie. Support emailed me in the morning of day 3 saying it will be in soon. I only got it after 17h00 that day... And then the usual bugger up withdrawing ZAR where I was already FICA'd but the withdrawal was stuck because I wasn't... Another 3-4 days later they finally paid out

edit: this was altcointrader
