Am I dying

Only after 24 hour ECG I reckon. Wouldn't want to mask something serious.

In the absence of an underlying physical cause, this sounds much like typical anxiety/panic attacks. Is there something very stressful going on at work/home??

He hasn't even had a blood test so how can one determine an absence of physical cause? An EEG/MRI is hardly enough investigation to determine if there is a underlying physical cause or not.

I agree but surely the doctor who sent him for EEG/MRI would have sent him for blood tests even just a basic blood count if they thought there was something they could discover. Sounds like the symptoms I get with low blood pressure which if you dont know what is happening could be panic inducing, shame poor dude.

There you are making a very dangerous mistake. You're assuming the doctors are competent. A simple blood and urine test just to be sure is not asking too much.

Never fully trust your doctor. If they're wrong you are the one who will suffer the consequences but it's no skin off their back.

So question everything, get tests done and get a second, even a third opinion especially when it concerns your heart.

I agree 100% he should get another opinion and more tests, even if it is panic related it needs to be treated before it becomes chronic and further affects his health. My father suffered a major heart attack day's after a ECG that was clear, perfect blood pressure and in range cholesterol. He was diagnosed with heart burn and anxiety and sent on his way. I think to some degree some doctors just do enough to cover themselves and beyond that it's very easy to say its "just" anxiety and look no further as long as they can't be sued they are on to the next 10 minute R400-R1000 consultation.

Saw another doc- had ECG done (clear) but he says unless the arrhythmia/ Palpitations are caught its hard to diagnose.

Hes asked me to cut out coffee completely and go on a low GI diet. I will be doing blood tests on Saturday testing fasted cholesterol, B12 and a few other things.

He's asked me just to keep an eye on my symptoms and see if they continue with the changes

Try wearing a heart rate monitor 24/7, maybe you get some good info from that. Someone I know finally got pointed in the right direction after finding out his HR is 150+ at times while asleep
