This is a update to my previous thread: Please assist in further action to take.

I went to Rectron earlier today, and told the person about my GPU fan not working properly, not even plugging it into a test bench, he just spun the fan with his finger, which clearly indicated the bearing was worn out.

I waited 5 minutes for him to go in the back and was greeted by a brand new sealed GPU.

While waiting for someone to go get the new GPU, someone working there received a call or a message, the tone on his phone was a Star Wars Tie Fighter, this is when I knew I had found my people and was in good hands.

10/10 service.

It's always a breath of fresh air to receive great service in this country.

Best I've received is from Simfy. Say what you will about the actual streaming service, but their customer service is unbelievable. If you leave a ticket they give you a call within 30 min. And they actually follow up to check if your issue has resurfaced.

I just finished a test a couple of minutes ago, the GPU is running 30°C cooler than the old one with the faulty fan.

Never got bought anything directly from them, but did RMA a Seagate harddrive through them and the service was awesome!

That's why I buy from Rectron: the after-sales support. When there's a problem, they sort it out.

I took my part in your story, so it would be bad manners to not add to this story my experience. I was with Rectron almost from the beginning when they were still renting business space. There was no a single case of handling repairs below top level. This is how they gained dealers support just in few months. If you ever met Rectron owner in person, you will understand why company is so good.

Glad to hear! :)
Rectron is awesome! I like the Star Wars ringtone part, lol.
See you on CS:GO.

You ever get that feeling the universe is against you?

The new GPU they gave me seems to be faulty as well, worked perfectly until an hour ago and now as soon as I try and play a game or run a benchmark, something GPU intensive, my system crashes and I have to hold the power button.

It might be your power supply causing the problem. :(

It's a Corsair CX430 V2.

It's the same PSU I used for a year with the other GPU flawlessly except the fan being worn out on the GPU, now it's another GPU, yet same, that causes my system to crash.

You really think it would all of a sudden be the PSU, despite the only thing different is the new GPU, with the same power consumption as the old GPU?

I changed my PSU with the one in my server, Corsair VS450, and just tested it with no crashes.

The CX430 has 336W on the 12V and the VS450 has 408W on the 12V.

Apparently that was enough to put me where I needed to be, it just baffles how it worked for so long.

Great work rectron. They always honour warranties better than other distributors that like to post on this forum.

What else do you have in your system? The r9 270 has a 150W TDP so the PSU should be fine. How old is it, maybe it's on it's way out?

R9 270 OC
2 x 4GB DDR3
1 x SSD
1 x 7200RPM
1 x Gaming keyboard
1 x Gaming mouse

I checked and my whole system should use about 380W. It seems the ol' girl can't handle it anymore, bought in 2011.

But works perfectly in my HTPC which barely uses any power.

I'm glad you found the reason for your woes. :)
