:D

This is still a pretty sweet deal. For the price you can buy a few and keep spares.

From the linked article:
Hisense 65-inch UHD TV from Makro – R13,999

It may not be 4K, but that's still a very enticing price. Panel prices have really come down in the last few years

What do you mean it may not be 4k?

This actually looks pretty decent Samsung 50-inch UHD TV from Game – R7,999

I'm very distrustful of manufacturer's claims after the resolution saga a few months back where certain brands claimed to have FHD panels, but in reality they were actually only 1366*768 or thereabouts

Hisense seems among the better brands but I would still remain cautious :)

That scandal was really more for the brands like Sansui, JVC, Blaupunkt, AIM, Telefunken, the rebranded Chinese TVs. Whereas Sinotec, Hisense and the others would be okay generally.

Then at least state that caveat instead of just blanket saying "it may not be 4k".... context is important my son.

But Hisense etc have always been true to their word in terms of the resolution of the panel....
