Checked for some art supplies for my wife. Also highly inflated, about the same price as Amazon International with fees shipping and duties.

Nope the only real differences are the American models, but generally it's the same as other areas and if you avoid the entry level models you'll be fine (general advice for all brands)

I remember there was one model and people were furious because half the specs on the box weren't included in the local model. Dodgy.

Do you happen to remember if they were looking at the US model vs the rest? Cause that's happened a few times, but even Samsung does that with phones.
 
Think the service will be short lived if we ever get slapped with sanctions, so don't count Takealot out just yet. If you're a seller, keep your local channels open, just to be smart about things.

I ordered some books, will see how it goes. Next day delivery was R75 and thursday was R70.
Was impossible to order these before so quite amazing if it works.

Maybe they'll still launch with a splash, as opposed to this quiet launch. Who knows? The deals seem okayish, and there's few enough of that, that it's easy to go through. The rest - Just wut?
