Amazon.co.za launching in 2024

yeah i am hoping been using it for 15 years :p
I remember a few years ago I also had trouble getting international SMS's on my phone and it was frustrating. I tried my wife's phone and it came through immediately. Try someone else's phone.

The only concern I have is that will Amazon ZA have the same products as takealot?

People buy from Amazon US because they can't find it available locally.

Or would they be able to ship from Amazon US warehouse to the ZA warehouse cutting out some of the cost if one was to order from Amazon US directly?

No one asked/questioned the vague nature of 2024?

If could be Jan (close to zero chance) or possibly late late in 2024.

Maybe a midyear jobbie.

Amazons own product range is worth it for those things alone. Kindles, Fire Stick, Echo Dots, Ring etc

Since Takealot isn’t listed directly how exactly do I go about shorting Naspers’ stock?
I have a lot of confidence in Takealot as you can tell.

None of the international Amazon entities provide this "transshipment" ability like you talk of.

If its available on their site locally, thats what you can get.

But how will ICASA work into this?

Everything electronic will have to be "approved".

I am hoping we can order internationally and use the local arm as our contact point. Much easier than having to deal with RMA in the States.
This. It will draw even more new customers to Amazon. I too have not bought on many occasions because I fear something goes wrong within the warranty period and then you're stuffed sending the faulty goods back overseas..

Yes. And they are working on a Star Link of their own. Looking forward to this in the near future.

I'm intrigued by Kuiper without a doubt, but I doubt we'll see it in this country either. ICASA will find a way to fsck that up as well.
