Amazon is awesome

This sort of thing is common in other countries. We're so used to kuck service that we're wowed when we receive good service.
Maybe in some countries. Can also depend on the retailer. We do actually have retailers in South Africa that are very good in general.

The slower option is quite fast and to your door.

I'm sure they're both to the door. But one is the old couriered option, other is equivalent of courier economy which we never had from Amazon before. The third option is SAPO and is cheapest for lighter items. Adding two boxsets and 2 BDs made the actual AmazonGlobal Expedited (cheaper) option cheaper than Standard Int'l shipping (SAPO).

Clothing companies, electronics manufacturers actually enforce their restrictions.

And all music and movie publishers don't. All movie and music publishers don't, but all clothing companies do? That was Amazon policy too. There was not a single item of clothing Amazon would ship.

Obviously they were not being enforced. It's up to the company that makes the product to enforce restrictions. In the case of hardware for instance it's not unusual for manufacturers to simply refuse to honour the warranty on any product not sold through an authorised retailer, and retailers lose that status if they ignore the manufacturers' selling restrictions.

No. It was Amazon company policy not to ship ANY software outside USA. No software/games at all, nada. You can't say every single software/game company enforced this. And on the other hand shops like CD Universe shipped all games to South Africa.

So it's not obvious at all.
