Amazon is hiring again in SA

Online retailer Amazon.com is hiring up to 611 people in South Africa, as it looks to expand its footprint in the region. more

I remember being contacted for an interview with them a couple of months ago. Pity they are located in CT. But I hear their interview process for developers is quite a gruelling process. Anyone have any experience in that regard?

EDIT: IIRC, their development activities over here in RSA revolve around their elastic cloud product.

Afaik they aren't. Hamster is right their presence here is totally service oriented.

A friend of mine works at Amazon. Their interview process consists of several stages including tests and a pretty brutal all-day programming test.
