Amazon Prime Buffering

What device are you streaming with? And how is it connected to your fibre service?

I have a 20Mbps Fibre line. Line is from OpenServe, hosted by Afrihost.
I get constant buffering when watching Amazon Prime.
Any reason why?
Thanks

Morning,

Are you streaming via wifi? What is the wifi speedtest like on other devices?

Don't worry I also have buffering with Amazon.. Also 20 Meg on wifi.. Netflix and Showmax work fine..

I realise this probably isnt related to Afrihost because it seems to be a bigger issue wit Crunchyroll but I have ran this before and I never had PL like this.

Anything you can suggest @AfriNatic ?

It's probably derailing this thread a bit, but Crunchyroll uses Cloudflare for their website and Limelight CDN for streaming. I have a 200Mbit line with Cool Ideas and I can't stream Crunchyroll more than 480p - it's horrendous. It's due to a broken Limelight CDN pop in JHB, so if this is what you're experiencing, it's unlikely an issue with the ISP. The only way around it is with a VPN to the UK or another region to bypass the local pop, and then you'll get full 1080 streaming without a problem.

You line has some loss there.
I dont have this issue anywhere else but with www.crunchroll.com I re-ran it now and no packet loss. However still having poor quality stream on different devices (or lagging if its anything higher than 360p)

That looks clear

I will try out crunchyroll to see why streaming is bad.

I see lots of people have this issue globally but I reached out to Crunchyroll support, thought I would see if you could see any issues. thanks any informatin will help I will reachout to their support again

@AfriNatic I understand you can't change the DNS settings. Switched to Google's DNS on a few devices to check and it resolved the issue.

Update: I then found I could update the DNS setting on the ONT via IPv6. Reverted all devices to "default" DNS settings and it somehow resolved the issue with Crunchyroll.com

I've been having this issue on Afrihost for the past week or so. Unwatchable. Anyone else?
what device you viewing on?

There is currently a bug on either tvOS or prime video app.
If you using AppleTV, close all apps, restart and it tends to clear up very quickly.

If its still blocky, start video than immediately press back (exit video but not prime) and immediately restart playback, also clears it.

Wow, that sounds like windows95 workarounds :-) I am using the google chromecast with google TV. I tested my internet speed with one of the apps and get 150mbps down and 80mbps up, so it can't be my network or my internet connection.
It could be Afrihost connection to Amazon prime, or their own service causing the issue

This is very old, but maybe I can find an answer here before tonight for the Fallout series, Amazon prime never worked for me with Afrihost over the years, I want to try it again today, I use to get buffering or 360p video quality on an evotel/afrihost 1000/500 line + 4k TV, now a 4K/DV compatible TV, is that fixed now, should I sub to prime or whatch it elsewhere®?
