Good people

I have read many conflicting posts on this forum and I am trying to confirm if Amazon (still) ships to SA ?

Thanks :)

I regularly buy movies & dvds from amazon.co.uk
I bought my Kindle and quite a few books from amazon.com

The only Amazon shop that changed their shipping policy was the US one. They subsequently quietly re-instated normal postal shipping to South Africa. But Amazon have only ever shipped CDs, DVDs and books internationally.

I got 15% off the original price from have2have for the Cowon D2+ 16gig player. I assume they get the item from Amazon. Woohoo.

Nope. They accepted my order and it has been sent off, so it seems they ship more than just the things you mentioned :)

I have tried to order other stuff, but no go.

I wanted to get a video camera from them but they refused. They wouldn't even send me a cheap camera soft case.

I have given up, only get Blu-ray DVD's from the UK store now.

I found it too expensive to get the stuff through Take2.

Ended up getting the camera from B&H. Had some problems with SAPO EMS, but eventually got it.

It's a Full HD 1080/60p model, you can't get it here.

According to their site they ship Books, VHS videotapes, CDs, DVDs, Music Cassettes, Vinyl using normal post and courier, but if you choose courier you can order other things. Another thing that can happen is that the items are not actually coming from Amazon. Some of the companies that sell through Amazon have different shipping policies.

Hey, if you want to try your luck, look here http://www.have2have.co.za/nameyourprice.php. have2have also ships Amazon products to SA, and if you know your stuff or just lucky enough you can save even further by going through them with this Name your price game.
Normally their and wantitall's prices are absolutely shocking. They actually often have items that are easily available locally charging much more than the local price.

The status of my order reads:

Shipment Delayed
Latest Event: Johannesburg
Customs Clearance delay - Jun 15, 2010 4:28:00 AM

Hmmmm :(

Just got my Cowon D2+ 16gig from have2have, since none of the SA website listed on Cowon stock them anymore. And R1500 for this music player is much more value for money than Ipod Nano.
